Social WR Lounge 243: Can you make threads while yellow?

1000 posts per thread doesn't give me enough time to work myself up to make a new thread.

i realized most of my energy goes to people who already dislike me, trying to make them dislike me less instead of towards the people who actually do like me making them like me more.
This is just a classic female problem though

If I had to put my finger on it, it would be the passion he speaks when discussing people of color, especially Central Americans, Mexicans, and other brown folk...

he also has a penchant for defending the proletariat...but this could be more about his marxist values.

FWIW, JVS is not correct about my racial identity.

I've mentioned before that, earlier on, I was doing a trollish parody of a legitimate revolutionary communist that I know - who believes that armed conflict is necessarily, inevitable, and desirable in the United States, the modern epicenter of world capitalism. As you all know, and as @HereticBD has pointed out with some strange glee, I am not ideologically revolutionary. I sympathize with and/or support revolutionary groups, but I don't think armed conflict is a desirable thing for the United States....at least in 2021!

I really haven't seen passion about people of color (hate that term). The persons thing is the right answer IMO.

I never used the term "persons" until I was an adult. Not sure if I picked it up in law school. I don't think I did. I think it's just a matter of wanting to be more precise with my meaning as I got older, although that does kind of correlate with legal writing. I still say "people" when I think it's the most appropriate term (describing a mass or group) but use persons when I'm describing many, er, humans based on individual actions or individual behaviors. So, I'd say "white people are the ethnic majority of the United States," but I'd say "black persons are more likely to report experiencing discrimination." Or "he really hates being around people" versus "those are two persons who enjoy different activities."

I tried to search my post history to provide examples, but "persons" produces all posts with person/person's/personal.

Don’t listen to @Social Distance Warrior . His meds rely on the postal service, which is godawful right now.

I generally don't stereotype white people, but the lack of lotion usage among my scantly melanated brothers and sisters is a point of national emergency imo.

White people don't get ashy.
