Social WR Lounge 243: Can you make threads while yellow?

1000 posts per thread doesn't give me enough time to work myself up to make a new thread.

I get that you're kind of shit posting (and no judgement there; we all do from time to time), but you do get that you're failing to connect your "WPEM" stuff, right?

Andy Capp (don't know the other one you're referring to) is clearly not all that racially ideological, let alone a self-hating white person or anti-white at all. And it's very rare that I ever even see you point out a post by anyone that is anti-white. At most, some stooge will post a Breitbart-style article or a random tweet from some nobody and you'll make a general statement about WPEM's and how they're all going to rush to defend it....and the no one does. Hell, just yesterday (or this morning?) tonni was being singled out as the "only leftist," and tonni is not very socially progressive.

You acknowledged that I'm one of the more "extreme" posters here, so I figured I would take your "litmus test" on the subject:

1) do you believe in CRT?

Answer: Yes, I guess? It's kind of a hard question to answer. I don't think the framework is infallible, that it can explain everything, or that it isn't misused, but I think it uncovers a lot of truth and bears a lot of valuable analysis. It's frankly not super relevant. No high school teachers are doing sections on Critical Race Theory. Hell, even as a social science major in college, I only came across it in a couple classes and didn't see anything super scandalous. It just studies phenomena that correlate to race along the lines of racial confrontation, domination, and norm-creation.
2) do you believe only white people can be racist?

Answer: No, not how you are meaning it. When most (99%) of people talk about "racism," they are talking broadly about prejudice, animus, and discrimination along the lines of racial identity. Of course, using that more liberal definition, everyone can be (or is) racist. If someone is using the sociological concept of racism as those things plus institutional power, I think it's fair to say "only [the ethnic/racial group in power] can be racist."
3) do you believe in Defund the police?

Answer: Yes, but this is again super vague. I don't believe in abolishing the police, but I do think that, particularly at the municipal level, bloated police expenditures (think, advanced weaponry and equipment that never gets used) could be better served being allocated toward social services. Don't you agree?
4) do you kneecap your own opinions and start off by saying, "as a white Cis-gender male..."

Answer: Yes - well, no one says that in regard to everything. But I do think it's important for one to acknowledge their own experiential limitations. If someone asks me about discrimination against immigrants or transgender persons, I can give my opinion but there's no harm in my acknowledging that I've never been an immigrant or a transgender person. Don't you agree?
5) Do you pay heed to Ibram Kendi or Robin D'Angelo?

Answer: No. That one was pretty easy.
6) do you believe Asians benefit from "white privilege?"

Answer: No, but it's another complicated question depending on how you conceptualize "white privilege." In a few ways, as I've stated here before, Asian Americans suffer uniquely from lack of political representation.
So I get about 3, but I'm

I never had a beef with you, because despite disagreeing with you on host of matters, your positions are usually supported by sound thought and reason.

in regards to # 4, I'm going to pull that from my litmus test for the reasons you explained.

I said that in jest...

Trots told me a long time ago he was mixed.

and besides...one mutt...can smell out another. and when I use mutt, I use that as a term of affection, not in a racially derogatory way.

However, prior to Trots telling me this, I could tell he wasn't white.

I remember his previous account so it was always clear to me that he was white. Or at least it seemed that way. I suppose the waters have been muddied a bit. Hexadecaroon at most IMO.

I thought @Cubo de Sangre was some kind of Hispanic because he always talked about hanging in Lil Puerto Rico while in Philly lol

Plus something about the name makes me think he might be Hispanic or maybe a Spaniard.

dis you?

Ironically @Jesus H. Sherdog has the same hairstyle

He's an alien.

I think he did regardless of what his actual race is, and he basically said as much ITT.

I disagree that he uses it to create an agenda or in any way (I suspect that it was partly a gimmick, partly about resetting to make himself less doxxable). But I agree that honesty is best. What I think is confusing is why anyone finds it hard to believe.

It's sometimes not so easy. Personally, I've said I could pass for white but don't really consider myself white. Mixed, complicated. Possible that something like that is going on with Trotsky.

I'll grab your whole post since I'm on my phone.

I honestly don't believe that (this is coming from someone who likes the guy)

Well he's clearly told people different things. That much is established. I don't think it was about doxxing but he can speak for himself. He's running a gimmick (which I'm now aware of) and that's fine. To reference our conversation earlier we both share similar views on it. All good but many an hour wasted.

I'm not going that route nor is it of any consequence to me. Trolling. He got me. Tip of the cap

What do I win?

what would the six questions be to determine if someone is the worst kind of conservative in the mind of a liberal or leftist?

I like this question.

At the gym so I can't articulate the questions right now, but I'd say 6 features of the worst kind of conservatism (not in order) are:

1) Faith-based epistemology that distorts facts or creates emotionally prejudiced narratives

2) Reluctance to admit that government functions such as central planning or wealth redistribution can make people better off

3) Radical self-concern that ignores collective action problems

4) Culture war obsession and misprioritization of political objectives

5) Anti-intellectualism and inability to adapt to change

6) Cringeworthy deference to money and power

So I'd be cool with questions that tapped into those.

I try not to consider "voted for Trump" as an automatic write-off but its funny how many of these that would compel that decision.

Good lord, some of the white belt retreads from the past couple months are terrible. I got one quote notification telling me that Democrats are letting Latin American immigrants into the country so that they can sponge off free healthcare and free school. And I just got another that "Hispanics are the newest pawns for the Globalists" to try to exterminate white people.

@Ruprecht These are the guys that can have new accounts every two months but Homer and Fawlty are persona non grata?

I'll weigh in here.

I thought @Trotsky was white from the get go but there was a period of time where I thought he could be black and it was actually an exchange with Jack where he was explaining who Fred Hampton was (never heard of him before that).

Trots is an actual leftists and knows the history of the movement and it seems to be really intertwined with the Civil Rights movement in the US (MLK being a socialist) from what I've learned.

So I can see how some might have thought he was black but really that's says more about me and my ignorance on those topics than Trots trying to cosplay a black dude lol.

@LazaRRus I've made conflicting comments about my identity and background, including saying I identify as black when I first starting posting. No fault on your part. I'm like the Joker from The Dark Knight, except, instead of blowing up hospitals, I just make really, really, ridiculously good posts on internet message boards.

Good man

I’m fairly certain @Cubo de Sangre is black because I just saw that Mike Tomlin gif tbh imo

But I obviously like Heavy Metal so that rules out black.

Just there for the food.

Inspired by the band Brujeria. All the lyrics are in Espanol. Made me think that there's something a little more naturally evil sounding than English. So when I started up my last record label I decided it was more evil than Bucket of Blood. At the very least, "Cubo" has more of a ring to it than "Bucket".

I think the perception exist in part because he had that Sankara avatar for so long.

I wouldn't call him a troll, though. I think he just played things up a bit in the beginning and then stopped doing that.

What's the most distinctive feature of his posting (putting aside the obvious high intelligence, which is distinctive)? His preference for "persons" over "people," right? I guess that's a lawyer thing, but it comes off very white to me.

Well, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt here because I do like conversing with you and am willing to take your word. That and I honestly don't don't care what color you are. Doesn't matter to me.
