Cyborg's first UFC opponent is Leslie Smith???......the same Leslie Smith that just barely beat Rin Nakai?

Obviously this is a gimme match for Cyborg. If Cyborg does well she can fight one of the big 3 (Holly, Ronda, or Miesha) at catchweight and not drop them from title contention or loss of a belt. I know Holm and Tate would fight her at a catchweight I believe they said.

This is a big test for Cyborg, to see if she can make weight and not get busted for any substances, if she can do that she will probably get a big money fight.

I'm pumped to see Cyborg in the UFC. I know she could fuck up Tate and Rousey for sure. Holm could be a different fight. When it comes to China, Cyborg probably has the best follows by Tate, Holm, and Rousey, so that will definitely help her.

Whether Rousey is champ or not I want to see her fought Cyborg before she gets past her prime.
 
Bringing her to the UFC is pointless when there is no chance she'll ever make 135. She should stick to fighting cans in invicta.
 
She's the only hope for the WBW division with Ronda sidelined due to obesity.
 
They definitiey gave her a marketable fight to start but what's the longer play. She does a bunch of catch weights?

Not exactly the hardest test of entry.

I wouldn't bank a co-main/main event on Cyborg either if I was in the UFC's position, weight questions and she seems too squirrely when it comes to toeing the company line. If she want to be successful in the UFC she's gotta do what she asked which is make the weight and show up ready to go, doesn't seem too hard.
 
Maybe she'll fight Ronda next. Since she looks like she's weighing at about 190 right now, it may be hard for her to get back down to 135 ;)

Cybro has to prove she can make 140. THis is a good step for her. If she can get down and feel good at 140 she can use it as positive reinforcement knowing that she can make 135 if all goes well. I'm wishing the best for her she can make things very interesting
 
Not sure im ok with unisex catchweight division.
 
Probably but Cyborg still has primary control over her career and destiny. Winning is winning and the UFC can't do anything if she beats all in her way. My biggest issue was just getting Cyborg in the UFC, now she's in, it's all on her. Best of luck to her

I don't buy that at all. Honda could have easily accepted a fight with her at a catch weight. Funny how the other two recent champs immediately came out and said they would. Personally I believe that the UFC marketed the shit out of Honda, made a huge cash cow (no pun intended:D) and knew that Cybro was a real threat to all of that. Honda has competed at 145 before as well. If I was in business and someone posed a threat to my income I would do everything in my power to stay away from that threat. Just my opinion though and I could be totally off who knows.
 
Not Cyborg's fault nobody wants to fight her.

She could have offered to fight her with one hand tied behind her back, too.

Except neither one is how title defenses work.

your avatar fits you really well know. If she is in the UFC. It's either to make big fights, or to make a new division.
