Would you take a 40% pay cut from what you are making now if you were offered to come in at 11am and get off at 1pm. You work only 2 hours and 1 of those hours if your paid lunch break. You cannot supplement your income by getting a secondary job or doing side jobs of any sort that involves taking money that adds to your monthly income.

You come in at 11am, go home at 1pm and you only have to go to work 4 days a week. You have 3 day weekends, every weekend. You still get your insurance along with other benefits. You also get the same vacation/sick days, etc... You still get your salary raise like you would normally get.

All this for a 40% pay cut, which you cannot supplement. This deal is magical in nature and once agreed, the deal cannot be broken as it is enforced by magic.

I'd take the deal and then, when I needed more money, I'd go all expelliarmus on the contract and get another job.

Not without being able to supplement my income. If the house were paid off and the kids out of the house absolutely.

I'll only be at my current job for 5 more months, so no. I need to save as much as I can for school. I'm also on a pretty sweet two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, two days on, three days off.

No, that doesn't fit into my retirement plan.

is it still based in your city at the time of the agreement? Can you relocate? If so, I would in a heartbeat. That kind of money in Florida would still be great money. Maybe not if I had to stay in Seattle.

As a typical sherdogger, I'd still be pulling in 6 figures - so yeah, I'm down with that.

I actually had a similar decision not that long ago only it was to a raise at my super easy job to stay.

The numbers were almost exactly as you described and most days 2-6 schedule.

I ended up leaving for the more difficult job. It was tempting though.

That schedule sounds pretty sweet, I'm jealous.

I had a three on four off for a while, loved that.

well i get lots of overtime on top of my base salary as well as nightshift differential when i work nights and holiday pay when I work holidays due to my schedule. so would you be eliminating all that excess income on top of 40% of my base pay? i would be losing more like 60% of my income and no I would not do it

Not in my position. 40% would crush me. Now, if I was in the six figure group, I'd do it.

Definitely not. Otherwise I'd just wast more time on here.

I have a cousin who works for an oil company. Since he works on the rig its two weeks on, two weeks off. Makes planning short vacations easier I bet.

Since WOW never said you couldn't relocate, I would take that. 60k in Florida is millionaire status in washington

Isn't that called unemployment?

hell fucking yes

time > money as I get older

I considered teaching because of all the time off they get. I also have enough money saved upto be okay in case I want to buy a house.paid off two cars.
