Law Camping World closes location amid controversy over huge American flag

I too have a car dealership in my town that has a gigantic American flag. The thing is awesome. It has not once cause an accident of obstructed anyone’s view of the sky.

I feel like there is a couple city council members that are drunk on power. That being said, a city is free to say what their zoning ordinances are, even if I think they’re stupid.

I don't even know where Greenville is. It is going to even out. They will put up a gofundme then the business will be fine.

Edit: Mayor is Republican and business is also dealing with this issue in Tennessee. Business owner is an immigrant from Lebanon.

i bet these libtards would love to replace it with a trans flag or isis one!

Put up a smaller flag. Problem solved. This is right wing pearl clutching at its finest.
Pretty much, creating their own outrage when a smaller flag could have quelled the issues. But the bigger the flag, the more of an American you are, apparently. MY FLAG IS FUCKING 1000 FEET LONG I'M THE MOST AMERICA AMERICAN.

Seems dumb, but I suppose they gotta have SOME sort of size constraint ordinance. Like, what if someone opened a competing business across the highway and called it "Camping Universe", and to prove how puny Camping World was compared to Camping Universe they put up a flag so gargantuan that it blacked out the sun? What then???

I just drove by a Camping World in Spokane, WA on I-90, and it was cool seeing the giant flag, but It was quite distracting next to the freeway. Probably a similar reason many states limit the size and types of billboards on the sides of Freeways.

who gives a shit. the only thing that matters now is the ongoing class war in USA and worldwide

Yeah that's essentially what it is, there has to be some restriction.

A flag battle where eventually someone has a flag that's one mile tall and four miles long, whipping cars off the road when there's a wind storm.

A city code for flag size is unconstitutional imo

Wave that star spangled banner dammit

I wonder how much personal and organizational energy that city council spent on this issue.

I think you and everyone else is missing the point.
Imagine if it was a giant trans flag that was too large for the rules the city had in place. You would be the first one to say take it down.
The fact it’s an American Flag is the click bait part of the story. The city has a law in place that a flag has too be a certain size, and this American Flag exceeds that size.To me the problem is Camping World broke the law and now mad they got called out on it.
You can’t break a law and then clutch pearls when you get called out on it. Get the law changed and then put up the flag. Camping World should donate to candidates that when elected will change the law.
We used to be a country of laws. I think I should be able to drive 100 mph on a toll road because I am paying to drive on it. If I get a ticket for it, telling the police officer the law is dumb does not absolve me from getting a ticket.
Cliffs: I agree some laws are dumb but that does not mean I can ignore them.
