Would you rather have a GSP like title reign or a Legendary fight like Lawler vs Macdonald?

If you were a UFC Fighter and you had to choose which one your legacy would entail, which would you choose?

I'd rather be considered one of the GOATs if not the GOAT of course, so GSP.

Being remembered for 1 fight? Not so much.

GSP's legacy will be fine.

I'd rather have a bunch of internet trolls think my incredible title reign isn't to their liking, and people that know anything about mma to admire it. Also, I'd rather have a few brain cells left at the end of the day and a nose that doesn't fall off when someone touches it.

The fight. That lives forever. The name, the aura, the memories of "dominance" all fade and can't be recaptured. You can show that fight in 50 years, though, and it'll still be great.

So, wishing to be one of the all time greats or having a death wish. Gee, that's a tough one.

Id rather watch great fights where every fighter could beat any of the others on any given night. Just much more exciting.

A division of Yoels/Jacares/Weidmans/Rockholds etc is much more exciting to me.

But dominating a division of great all time fighters is something to witness. GSP legit beat some of the greatest WWs of all time in his reign. Shields has one of the best resumes at WW ever, even though he's nyquil.

GSP. But if I could regenerate my brain and face, then I'd have every fight be Lawler vs Macdonald 2.

People remember epic fights, but there is also something to be said about dominant reigns like GSP, Silva and Jones. Their fans will watch hoping to see them expand their streak, and others will tune in and hope that it ends.

At the end of the day, records and title defenses seem to have a bigger impact on legacies than individual fights.

If I were a professional fighter, i would take a long winning streak cause it means more money than being in a war that’s gonna take years off my life.

I would prefer an epic title reign that is so dominant people will remember and hate you for years lol.

GSP has much more money so I will go with him.

GSPs reign. Fights like Lawler Mac shorten careers, and literally take years off of lives. Admiration from fans fades over time.

GSP's career was legendary...

OMG REALLY?

This is the type of question that only lives in the heads of Just Bleed Shertards.

Every fighter would prefer to win their fights with minimal damage to themselves. Every fighter.

You can argue the ideal win might be a Houston Alexander type run that never ends where he is just walking to the centre of the cage and KO'ing guys but none of those guys would instead choose a Shogun/Hendo type war of attrition if they had the chance for a quick KO.

Don't assume because some guys stills, like Lawlers or Diaz work well in a war of last man standing that they would not prefer to win clean and with no damage to themselves as they would.

There is a reason why GSP's legacy as one of the GOAT's is set and the type you speak to is a footnote only.

I'd rather preserve my brain cells and be an MMA fan instead of an MMA fighter.

Pretty obvious everyone would pick GSP. GOAT point fighter for sure.

But If I was that UFC fighter, didn't care about brain cells, money in the bank and had the night of my life....War Lawler and Canadian Pysco.

Just bleed

Obviously brain damage and a forgettable career with less earnings.

That 1 legendary fight got Rory sent to Bellator shortly after.. So much for that..
