Yea, sure. Hope they dont force me to Paramount too fast here, as now UFC is part of a package I would get anyway for more important sports than MMA, but if things come to that, absolutely.

I'm absolutely going to sign up to Paramount. Probably this week.

lol good for you. I'll sign up next year what's it gets going.

Let me know what you think of the movies and TV Shows on paramount while you are at it.

I would say no. If you add $20 per month to all the services that are already being paid depending on the person (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube. HBO Max) it gets to be too pricey. I know streams are unstable and could cause issues but part of the reason I am on the seas so much is because I hate being nicked and dimed to death. It's a similar reason I won't pay for service like Microsoft Office/365. Additionally some things on the high seas do a much better job of getting you the product than the actual provider (i.e. ESPN+).

I see interesting perspective. Would you take out and unsubscribe one of those and then add Paramount +?

And I agree it does all add up.

Yes for me.

I have been paying $30/mo for an isptv streaming service which is pretty much exactly that.

All UFC and Major Boxing PPVS

Full "cracked" unlocked cable with all premium channels and local/international sports channels

Decent streaming library of shows and movies.
Dude how do you do this??

Yeah, immediately; I already pay for UFC Fight Pass (which is great) & ESPN+ (which is dogshit & I will be cancelling as soon as the Paramount+ streaming begins).

I don't pay for PPVs because I don't have a spare $1k to drop each year on them + the illegal streams legitimately work better for me than ESPN+ half the time.

I don't think so because if I did it that way there would always be something I would want to watch that is on another app. Additionally I am married so there are some apps I can't get rid of because my wife likes those apps and she is not willing to be on the seas like I am consistently. Also, I am kind of jaded because if something is going for a billion dollars at least get that on cable tv at the minimum, not behind a pay wall.

Are you saying the monthly cost of Paramount+ will go up to $20 by the time they start broadcasting UFC events?

I won't be surprised if it rises significantly from what it is now. Look at Netflix's pricing and they seem to go up every year. As of 2025, Netflix offers three subscription plans: the Standard with Ads plan for $8 per month, the Standard plan for $18 per month, and the Premium plan for $25 per month. I think one of the perks of Premium is 4k streams. It will still be way cheaper than the PPV model.

Agreed. As I've said in a few posts after the one you quoted, all the streaming services will be charging more next year and beyond. P+ with all the UFC events is worth WAY more than $13/mo.

7-8 years ago I got DirecTV streaming. They called it DirecTV NOW. It was in beta I think, so to draw subscribers they offered $30/no for life for something like 75 channels. They gave me an Apple TV 4K box as part of the deal. I knew it wouldn't last. 2 yrs later they sold to AT&T, who offered it for another year or so and then started jacking up the price. I think they sold back to DirecTV who now offers their cheapest regular streaming plan for $85/mo.

This.
Anyone who isnt doing this is nuts.
Wish I knew about it years ago.

Whatchu mean?

It's called soplayer. It installs like an app on phone or fire stick. **

** basically

There are other services like it. I have been told some for less $.
But this has worked fine for me for years so i was happy to continue.

Indeed.

Someone invited me over to watch fights probably 2019 or so and I offered him money to chip in on the PPV, he wouldn't take my money (and he didn't need it his house was ballin) and he told me about soplayer.

I paid for PPVS for a bit. And hit some Hooters and Miller's Ale house type nights, but ISPTV always felt like a fair deal to me. Especially with the Boxing PPVS and the other shit. My kids can catch movies often when they are still in theaters so that saves me money too.

I have paid for almost every single ppv the last 10 years (minus ones headlined by Amanda Nunes or BMF fights ) so of course I'll gladly pay the $20 monthly or whatever it costs.

Fight pass is how much? You can watch any UFC event in fight pass?
I pay £6.99 in the UK, it's got every event and TV show Dana white contenders, TUF etc, all the small MMA orgs where UFC bought their libraries (Strikeforce, Cage Warriors, Affliction), plus Pride and all the grappling orgs and some cheesy karate movies.

Basically all MMA content that ever existed apart from Bellator, PFL and the Eastern European stuff.

If there's a PPV on a Saturday night it's normally out in full on UK fight pass by Wednesday or Thursday.

As an older guy who grew up in an area where there wasn't many tv channels, suddenly having every channel at a reasonable price blows my mind.

Let's just say it's $20 a month and you get access all UFC content as well as movies and TV.

Is that still enticing enough for you pay a monthly subscription?

For me yes, when you factor in all the other content you can get besides UFC and also you can get in 4k HD quality. Easy yes for me.
Unless the service is cheaper than a VPN, then no.
