Would you like to see Rico Verhoeven in the UFC?

Yeah, HW needs new blood. Supposedly he's been training on the ground for the last 2-3 years at ATT on and off, supposedly.

I couldn't see anyone NOT wanting him in there. Some people may say "well he has no ground game at all", I say it doesn't matter at all. Derrick Lewis got no ground game but he's decent and real entertaining.
Derrick Lewis actually has a pretty good defensive ground game and it's extremely hard to keep on the ground when he wants to get up.

Contrary to popular belief there are times when size and strength trump technique.

What's are his fight purses these days? I remember him trying an mma fight and boxing match a while back, thought maybe he wasn't making much in Glory an was looking for other potential avenues
He probably makes like 100-150K per fight. Much less than Stipe but a lot more than being a lower top 10 getting wrestled around by Curtis Blades.

He beat 0-0 Antonio Silva in kickboxing and should get in the the UFC as an 0-0 MMA fighter?
Am I missing something

I mean, they signed Saki.

I think he made around 500k for the Badr Hari fight. A rematch is coming up, so unless UFC comes with some serious money, I don't see it happening.

Actually Rico mentioned that he got an offer from Bellator a while back, and he has been pretty vocal about being interested in MMA.

Would love to see Rico VS Overeem, doesn't really matter if it's MMA or Kickboxing.

Damn. So he basically won't ever sign to the UFC. He isn't gonna get that kinda payday in MMA.

Though, there aren't too many big money fights in kickboxing for him and I could see the UFC paying him 150-200k a fight, so who knows.

No doubt I think everyone would want to see Rico in the UFC but I don't know how much of a significant pay cut he would be taking going from glory to the ufc. There's not much left for Rico in terms of his kickboxing legacy.

Obviously he would have to be built up over 12-18 months but the HW division could desperately use someone who has the credentials that Rico has. just imagine Rico versus Reem or Rico/Ngannou

Ultimately I don't think we ever see Rico in the mma big leagues

Least scary guy in the world...

Until he stands up and takes his shirt off....

He has one MMA fight, maybe he chooses not to pressue MMA. Beating bigfoot is nothing to brag about these days, his skull has been damaged

He's the highest paid Kickboxer in the world. Why would he want reebok money?

UFC belts are meaningless now so it all comes down to money. WME is cheap so I expect it not to happen

Reebok money is probably better than kickboxing money

They would definitely have to bring him up slowly so he could develop some wrestling (takedown D) skills. Give him a few Cyril Asker types until he's ready to step up.

I imagine Rico/Ngannou would be fun.

Watch his debut fight, he outwrestles his opponent, gets mount and GnPs him out, he trains at least parttime at AKA and I wouldn't be supprised if he's cross trained quite a bit already.

Most exciting heavyweights you can think of would be fatter and worse in the UFC. So not really.

This. If he attempts it, ill watch. Maybe he will suck (stefan leko type) but ill still tune in. At least hes an accomplished combat sports athlete, unlike CM Punk.

Tyson Fury used Rico for sparring for the first Klitschko fight.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't want to see him.

That said, I don't think he's ready based on the fight he's already had, and there are serious concerns about how he would do under stricter drug testing.
