Lol that's such a shit website. Want to know how they determine the pitbull population? They looked at a few classified ads.
The most recent calculation by Animals 24-7 was completed in July 2015. Breed populations are determined annually by searching over 56 million online classified ad listing dogs for sale and adoption.
Dogsbite is shit. They are the Alex Jones of Pitbull hate. They grossly under-calculate pitbulls and pitbull mutts while over calculating comparable breeds. The website is literally named DOGS BITE.
There's really anywhere from 8-15 million pitbulls running around and way less than 1 million of any comparable breed. That's the numbers that respectable neutral dog organizations come up with.
Then cite your sources demonstrating put hulls are 8-15x more common than breeds like labs, GSD's, and golden retrievers. I didn't locate any source that stated that pit bulls were the most common in the U.S..
