If the federal government has had enough of pitbull attacks and decided that having a pitbull is illegal and that all pitbull breeds and mixes have to be turned in for euthanization, would you voluntarily give up your pitbull pup to be euthanized?

There’s only one pitbull breed. It’s caled and APBT. More proof that the reason real pitbull s get a bad rap is because 10 or so BULLY Breeds are often generalized as pitbull s, and the real APBT pays the price for it.

Typically these sorts of laws have some kind of "legacy" clause. You get to keep your existing pit if you microchip and get a permit. However new ownership is forbidden.

I don't have sources to back up my claim, but I think it's safe to assume the odds of a pitbull getting out and attacking a neighbor are astronomically higher than a viper or cobra getting out and attacking a neighbor.

If someone educated pitbull haters on the fact that anywhere from 10-15% of the dog population in the United States is made up of pitbulls and pitbull mutts and the next most popular breed is Labradors at 1%, meaning they account for more attacks because there's substantially more of them, would haters change their mind? Pitbulls aren't more likely to attack than any other breed. They are equally likely to attack as any other large breed like mastiffs, dobermans, Rottweilers, et cetera. There's just exponentially more pitbulls than those breeds.

Dogos,presas,boxers,bulldogs,bull terrier,staffs,mastiffs all get confused often as pitbulls. The dogs you see people selling on the internet like that dog “herkules” is not a APBT. Those designer huge “pit bulls” are actually bulldogs and mastiffs. True APBT is 60 lb max. Friendly dogs and very family orientated.

The most recent calculation by Animals 24-7 was completed in July 2015. Breed populations are determined annually by searching over 56 million online classified ad listing dogs for sale and adoption.

Dogsbite is shit. They are the Alex Jones of Pitbull hate. They grossly under-calculate pitbulls and pitbull mutts while over calculating comparable breeds. The website is literally named DOGS BITE.

There's really anywhere from 8-15 million pitbulls running around and way less than 1 million of any comparable breed. That's the numbers that respectable neutral dog organizations come up with.
