Would you consider living in Las Vegas?

lived here 15 years. also lived in

Michigan
California
Tennessee
North Carolina
North Dakota
Texas

I prefer it over all of them by quite a bit.

Is it hot? yes. But better than Houston heat

Most people that live here avoid the strip unless you have family in town or are going to a game or show. So contact with tourists is not too bad. cost of living isn't bad, but Californians flooding in is starting to change that.

the best thing is that there is always something to do. it is impossible to be bored. we don't get tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes, etc. i only felt one tiny tremor from an earthquake

basically, if you are not a drug addict, gambling addict, or alcoholic, it is pretty good.
It is still way cheaper than CA to live in Vegas it isn't even close even if the cost of living was the same you still get more for your buck in vegas like a 2000 dollar a month apt is way better in vegas than in CA a 4500 mortgage gets you a way better house than 4500 per month in L.A which is an 800 sq ft house. You can be an alcoholic anywhere I know people in A.A in vegas who are sober it is actually the best test of maintaining sobriety to be sober in vegas.

For some reason I always seem to get really bad nosebleeds in Vegas.
No humidity I think, same thing happens to me.
Yes...The humidity...Same...

Lived there for 30 years and left for good a year and a half ago.

3x my current salary would get me there. In other words, not somewhere I'd particularly want to live.

Why'd you leave. I'm just curious.
A few reasons. It's not the same Vegas it was when I moved there in the 90s. Back then it was less crowded and there were much better deals to be found around town and on The Strip as far as food/drink are concerned. I also got sick of the heat and that damn sun all day every day month after month, year after year. Finally, I retired from the school district with a full pension so it was just time to go.

I've only been there a few times but I love the weather (mainly the lack of humidity). I bet it's still too cold for me though this time of the year.

All of Compton, Inglewood and east LA is moving to Las Vegas. If you enjoy the company of black and mexican gangs, then Las Vegas is for you.

Almost entirely all of the jobs in Vegas are related to working in a casino or doing something that helps casinos. Not sure I would want to be around that environment on a daily basis. Plus living in the desert would get old quickly.

Cool place to visit, but I wouldn’t live there or in any city at this point in my life. Country life is where it’s at for me.

Not a chance in hell, I'd become a gambling and drug addict
