Would you be honest and cancel?

Had this happen with a huge food order, with Uber eats, when we were having a family gathering. Food was dropped on wrong doorstep and when i got the 'delivered' notice and saw it was not on our step, they fully credited me and we redid the order, and a few minutes later a neighbour from about 10 doors down knocked our door bringing us the food order. So we got double for the price of one and every one got a lot of unopened food to take home, which the young families loved.

Might be too late to cancel. I'd send back the second helmet through the normal return process, you might need to pay a small fee for postage. You don't need to tell them you ended up getting helmet 1, as far as they're concerned that package was lost. It's Amazon, they could lose millions and scarcely notice.

I’d let them know about it, they may tell you to keep it, but I’d let that be their call.

So, I ordered a new welding helmet from Amazon and it was going to be delivered today. I received an email saying that it was delivered, but the picture they showed on the email is not my doorway. I called Amazon and told them to contact the driver and see if he can track the item and deliver it at the right address, they said they weren't able to contact the driver but they'll ship me another welding helmet and they'll expedite the shipping to tomorrow.

So, I get a doorbell ring and it was a neighbor. He gave me the package and said it was wrongly delivered to his house... and I got another one that'll be arriving tomorrow. I got 2 welding helmets for the price of one.

Would you call Amazon to cancel the 2nd item?

Call amazon? I legit have trouble finding a working email to complain to them.

We all know you’re going to keep both, TS

Nope. I'd return one of them a few weeks later. Fuck Amazon.

It's the universe letting you dual wield welding helmets. Just take it.

Nah. It obviously was cheaper for them to just send another than it would have been for them to track the first one, pick it up, then deliver it to the correct address. Otherwise they would have done just that.

So, if it’s not worth it to them to do that, then it isn’t worth much to them.

Customer service chat is relatively quick and easy. If you can't locate it, just type customer service in the search bar on the site and it'll come up with a link. Initially, they're going to link you to a FAQ to save themselves some unnecessary questions, but scrolling through that will lead to the actual chat prompt.

Wouldn't they find out?

They honestly don't really care. Small, single, issues are treated as a cost of doing business. No one is going to go looking for it.

The driver will probably get in trouble over it, but that's going to happen whether or not they get the mask back.

Most likely the company that makes the mask will somehow get stuck with the cost (because Amazon isn't going to eat it) and they can either accept that, or stop doing business with Amazon which is often a death sentence for a small or midsized business.

I'd return it. Amazon makes returns pretty easy and they might just tell you to keep it anyway.

I did have a delivery a few years ago with 2 pairs of Doc Martins for my address, but I name I've never heard of. We called the company and I tried to send them back, but they made it oddly difficult. Like "do you have a reciept" and generally road blocking us from returning their goods.

After a few attempts and generally shitty treatment we sold them for like $100 a peice. IDK where that lands in the Karma scale, but I felt OK about it.

I'd send them all back. You buying cheap Chinese welding helmets?

I suppose I'd trust my eyes to such hackery.
