Would Mighty Mouse win UFC 1 tournament?

They wouldn't be able to get their hands on MM and he could wear them down with leg kicks if he wanted to. None of those guys knew how to check a leg kick properly.

Ah no. Mighty mouse is billed at 5'3" and probably walks around at a max of 140 pounds. He would have an advantage in skill due to 20 year knowledge gap, but that's where his advantage ends. He trains for 5 minute rounds, with standard MMA rules in effect. Not NHB rule set, with much larger men, who are going to be just as hungry as him. I don't think he could win three fights in a row.

Right... Gordeau was the dutch Kyokushin champion for eight consecutive years.

He would be just 30 pounds lighter than a 170 pound Royce who was one-dimensional and destroyed everyone

So yes he'd win it.

He'd beat everyone that Royce beat the same exact way he beat them (none of those wins involved being 170 as being mandatory). He'd beat Royce by not getting taken down and running around hitting him for the whole match.

I'd bet on HW Gordeau KOing 5"4 MM.

Dillashaw and Mighty Mouse would beat Royce. I don't remember how good Shamrock's grappling was back then. They would certainly be favorites to win over him.

Since he subbed Funaki twice, pretty damn good.

MM would get owned by Ken Shamrock. There is what a 100lbs Size difference? Back then a fully juiced prime Shammy would be WAY too much for a little 5"3 guy to handle.

Rhonda isnt worth mentioning, you must be crazy.

With Matt Hume in his corner, MM could definitely win the tournament. I think he'd leg kick the shit out of the big boys including Body Builder strong Ken, who specifically would shoot in and qickly tap to a guillotine, which would feel tight as hell thanks to MM's high relative functional strength. In short, Ken wouldmn't take MM seriously, would make a mistake and pay for it.

Royce back then wouldnt have been able to submit a current MM. There are alot of guys Royce couldn't submit who had much worse grappling than MM.

The biggest threat would probably be Shamrock due to his sheer athleticism back then, but even still I see MM breaking him.

The most complete fighters of UFC 1 had several huge holes in their game, Mighty Mouse would exploit those issues well enough to compensate his lack of weight.

For the sake of this argument assume there was a time machine that would allow you to send a current UFC fighter to enter the first UFC tournament. Assume that the fighter would weigh in at their current weight class but would fight at their normal 20+ pound weight. Who is the lightest champion who would win?

Aldo or anyone higher would be a no brainer. Would Dillashaw beat 1993 Royce or Ken Shamrock? Would Mighty Mouse? I would tend to say yes.

If you chose to weigh in on how Ronda would fare you may. That's a different argument though.

Mighty Mouse beats Ken Shamrock of UFC one when he still had knees? Please pass whatever you are smoking this way kind sir.

Shamrock was well rounded, and um, had quite a rigorous nutrition regimen. Shamrock, with his skill set, and size advantage would smash Mighty Mouse.

not good enough to last 60 seconds with Royce.

How the hell did I read through this entire thing and not see one mention of DAN SEVERN?!? He would most likely be the worst matchup for MM.

Hell no. Gerard Gordeau would've plucked out his eye balls and eaten them... and it would've been legal...

Gordeau was beat in the pride tournament by a 135 lb Yuki Nakai.

Nakai made it to the finals along with rickson Gracie. He weighed less than MM would in the cage so I think MM would do pretty well.
