Would Crawford be competitive with Canelo?

How is Canelo a weight bully? The guys moved up to 175…. He looked flat against bivol but tbh he fought an incredible boxer who had height, reach, and weight advantage.
Canelo had 60 fights before Bivol, and when at middleweight and light middleweight he (or his team) was well known for BS around the weight - from catch-weights to rehydration clauses. He avoided GGG for years while trying to set up a catch-weight that he knew would drain him.

No.
Canelo is too large and strong for him + very experienced.

Yeah, Canelo is well known for shenganians, hometown fights and clauses etc...horsemeat too.
Still it is very talented and highly skilled specialist.

I would pay to watch. There is no f promoter that can make it happen?

I think you just made my point lol
I think the point sailed over your head. We arent discussing Crawford going up one weight class to fight a career 154. Were talking about someone who has fought 3-4 classes higher and been dominant at the highest levels there. Melting guys far bigger than he is.

The jumps in weight usually take a lot of time to be done successfully. Thinking Crawford is going to do well fighting the best of the best 3-4 classes higher in a single outing is borderline absurd. It would be fun for a few rounds and then we would see why weight classes exists, likely in brutal fashion.

I would absolutely agree that Bud could be successful if he dedicated his efforts to moving up in weight properly, but even then he is 35 and father time comes calling for everyone. At this point in his career, anything outside of maybe 160 is just silly.

Bud vs Fury
Inoue vs Usyk

Bud vs Inoue for Undisputed Heavyweight champ.

Inoue first Undisputed Heavyweight Champ since Lennox.

You’re making false comparisons.

We already have little charlo fighting Canelo in September. As we already know bud is chomping at the bit to take lil charlos belts….

Canelo has signed with pbc and spence is on record saying he would definitely take a fight with canelo.

so we got two of buds opponents ready to fight or will be fighting Canelo and you think it’s some fantasy land that this fight couldn’t happen?

Wasn't Spence talking about fighting Canelo at Middleweight? Speculation runs rampant but Canelo isn't moving down to 160lbs for anyone and the idea of Bud jumping to 168 is a little far fetched. 22lbs to face a guy who fought at light heavyweight?

This isn’t mma where it takes Jon Jones 3 years to get ready for heavyweight. Boxers go up and down weight all the time. For fucks sake, Manny is an 8 division world champ, lol. Judging from this weight cut to 147, Bud is clearly a natural 154 pounder at this point. Fighting at 160 is not that far fetched.

Granted, this will never happen, as Canelo will never fight below 168 again. But we did see him at 160 before. No version of Canelo pre/post Floyd can match skills with Bud.

Maybe you want to go back and check those timelines again.

Dont need to match skills when you can bludgeon them with power. Dont even know what Crawford’s power looks like vs 154/160s, let alone 168. If he doesnt have the same punching effect, Canelo would eat him alive.

We also have no idea what his durability or stamina would look like at those higher weights. Given how efficient and economical Bud is his stamina would likely be fine but his durability and power would be the main two question marks.

I mean, they are the same height and Bud has a longer reach. At 160, this isn’t a mismatch. Bernard Hopkins was known for not cutting weight at 168. He was almost always facing bigger opponents, at least in weight. Bud is on that level of boxing IQ, like Hopkins, Floyd, etc. When you’re good, you’re good and Bud is the best right now.

You still keep intentionally ignoring the fact that these things were done over time not a single jump 3-4 classes at once.

Youre also now pretending that Canelo fights at 160 still.

when’s the last time bud fought someone bigger than him?

he’s always had the reach advantage.

Actually I said this won’t happen because Canelo will never fight below 168 again. But sure, continue to say that I’m pretending Canelo still fights at 160 lol. Feel free to read over my responses. Clearly we are speaking hypothetically. Also, you’re assuming I’m saying Bud can fight at 160 tomorrow or even his next fight. That is not what I’m saying at all. But if he wanted to fight at 160 a year from today, he could. After all, the range for middle weight is 154-160.

None of what I’m saying is uncommon in boxing. Here’s an example for you. Your boy Canelo defended his 160 belts and won a 175 belt in a span of 6 months lol. There is precedent for this shit. Again, I don’t think this will happen, as Canelo will not fight below 168 again(felt like saying that for the 4th time, just in case you missed it).

I'm not doubting Crawford. He took Spences punches like they were nothing. Canelo probably too big but Crawford would definitely hold his own.

I agree with that.

why is Canelo lower on the p4p list than bud when he’s going up in weight and winning and bud is fighting just people in his weight class?

buds style would have to change up completely if he’s giving up height and reach.

Canelo has shown he can do it with his head moment and carrying his power
