Would Conor Mcgregor beat "motivated Bj Penn"?

Where's PB?

PB would say Penn easily submits Conor, and he would be right this time.

Penn didn't have Khabib's takedowns and ground control, but he was WAY better at everything else. Penn would fare better on the feet and would submit Conor quickly when the fight went to the ground.

I always thought Conor vs Pettis would have been a ton of fun, and we should have gotten it at UFC 229. Instead Tony spent what last little bit of prime he had left on someone not name Khabib who was on the same card. It'll never not hurt.

Prime Marinovich Penn mops the floor with him. Unmotivated Burrito BJ Penn? Still mops the floor with him.

Marinovich Penn wasn’t prime. From what I remember he went to marinovich after he lost to Frankie Edgar the first time and we know how things turned. I could be wrong.

but marinovich penn could for sure beat Conor. He’s essentially got Nate’s skill set.

We saw how Nate did against Conor. Now imagine a dude with a better chin, boxing, power, bjj, and wrestling. Back then Marinovich Penn had the gas tank as well. Penn would have destroyed Conor at 155lb and 170lb. Conor couldnt even scramble against an out of shape Mendez.

You're wrong.

He worked with Marv for Florian and Sanchez.

well considering a high school state champ could outwrestle conor mcgregor, and prime bj takes every shot mcgregor can throw (while bj continuously licks his or his opponents blood). prime bj takes this 10/10 times. come on people mcgregor isnt that good at mma, he is the goat at selling himself. and he clearly sold himself to a lot of delusional people.

You might want to sit this one out. The adults are talking.

You would be wrong in your recollection.

I normally rag on Bj Penn

His fan base is delusional largelly and he isnt the P4P GOAT based off all his WW and FW losses. However, Bj is logically top 3 LW of all time and Conor has poor takedown defense.

Bj Penn is at no risk of being takendown by Conor and Bj would be one of the best strikers namely boxers Conor will have had to face. They are similar height and reach. Conor for most of his career was a large FW and smallish LW similar to Bj Penn. Even a WW Conor wasent too heavy and Conor wouldnt have a size advantage. In addition, prime Bj had a very good chin.

I can see Bj beating Conor several times out of 10 but not all 10x

When Penn was at his peak. Mcgregor was making his MMA debut. Mcgregor uses a few of BJ's moves too. Mcgregor came up studying BJ Penn. I am honestly glad they never fought because we can still make the argument that Penn will win.

Wouldn't be a fair fight what so ever, BJ would eat anything thrown at him and then proceed to bounce Conrads head of the canvas, or choke him unconscious. If TS was in the know, then this wouldn't even be a question.

He worked with them for the first Frankie fight. They just left one month early. Conditioning wise it wouldn't have made a difference. I think he was with them in 2013 and 2017 with Gary only. Marv had a neurological disease. He couldn't train anyone then. I think he died recently.

Conor gives BJ the Alvarez treatment.

BJ can wins for sure, but idk if he would. Prime Conor has a way of breaking fighters before a fight. Nate and Khabib are mentally tougher than BJ imo.
