(Would love a poll to be included in this thread but can't do it).

If tomorrow, Putin invades Ukraine,

1. Would Biden declare war on Russia and send troops to the Eastern Front in Europe?
2. Or is the red line another bluff of hot air that the US won't actually enforce?

Kind of a fascinating if scary question to consider.
USA doesn't even have any troop deployed in large numbers in Ukraine.
They'd be caught completely off-guard if Russia runs through the Ukraine tomorrow.

My guess is USA would do nothing except posture and impose (more) sanctions.
But they would not put boots on the ground for this.

Posting this question in light of the recent Putin/Biden talk, and how Putin said that tensions are sky high in the region.

They wouldn't need to, the Russia economy is very dependent on the rest of the world... sanctions are all that's necessary.

Nuclear powers will never resort to open warfare, it would be suicide. The only way that happens is if it's an accident--or a suicidal leader.

I don't think that sanctions are enough, especially since half the world is more or less allied to Russia (China, etc) and wouldn't back the sanctions.
And then you have Europe which depends more on Russia than vice versa, and probably will never go hard on the sanctions. At some point I feel you need the threat of war for a state (any state) to not go to war. It has to be too risky for them to do it.

Some also say that China might coordinate with Russia and hit Taiwan at the same time so USA is overwhelmed.

The United States, for once, should just stay out of situations on the other side of the world. They don't have to get involved in everything. Not everything is their business.

Bismarck had the same opinion before WW1 started.
People didn't listen to him.

America attacks Russia, Russia puts up a sign saying there are only two genders, America gets triggered and goes home. Canada says we'll back you America, sends it's one military jet fighter built in 1973, gets shot down before leaving Canadian territory. Ukraine now belongs to Russia.

I don't think we would counter with force. Just sanctions. The latter of which wouldn't have "grave" implications, which is why we actually think they might do it

Nah

For the USA it's absolutely sufficient to set the fire and then watch how the conflict between EU/Ukraine and Russia weakens Europe.

This conflict is very good for America for many reasons. There is also a chance that Nord Stream 2 could be stopped and be replaced by liquid gas from US.

He already said no military action.

What the US would do is , along with the E.U. and close allies, is levy sanctions.

We would win a nuclear war with Russia if our Black Ops mange’s to steal all the step stools in Russia because then no way is Putin tall enough to press the button.

Then why is Biden so agitated along with US media, and drawing red lines?
Legitimately asking because your opinion is very interesting.
USA & CIA is very implicated in Ukraine. I cannot believe they'd allow it to fall. Victoria Nuland and other such state actors are heavily implicated there.
