Would being a Hollywood stuntman be really cool or really stupid?

As far I know, he never trained with Gene LeBell but I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least partially inspired by him. Kind of like how both Dalton from Road House and John Danaher have Philosophy degrees from Columbia and worked as bouncers (or was it coolers?).
of course he was, Gene bullshitted a story of how he threw bruce and segal around, I don't believe either after a couple eyewitnesses to the actual segal story say nothing really happened, let alone no one got choked and shit themselves. People always wonder how that story got started, well, Gene!

Gene fought.

Seagull did not.

Lee is questionable.

Embellished or not, Gene > both

that's not the point at all, Gene was a bullshitter, known fact. Making up shit that didn't happen, he's better off polishing his trophies.

So I've been watching reruns of The Fall Guy and its an awesome show. Back in the early 80s men still acted like men and it's good to revisit that. Plus they had Markie Post and Heather Thomas for eye candy. And the subject matter is cool too. Hollywood stunt man working as a bounty hunter on the side. What's cooler than that?! It's like Once Upon A Time in Hollywood but for the 80s.

What kid wouldn't have wanted to be a stunt man growing up? Seems like the best job ever. But then I started looking at it realistically. Are stunt people one step up from hookers? They both sell their bodies for pay in dangerous circumstances. And the pay for stunts probably isn't great. Not to be risking your life for a stupid movie! People die doing that shit. There was a stunt man killed making XXX (the Vin Diesel flick) on a parachute being pulled by a boat under a bridge and he was pulled into the side of the bridge. Dead. And I'm not sure he would say it was worth it. Idk.

So what do u think? Would the reality of being a Hollywood stunt man be awesome? Or silly?

At my age, I am more and more of the mindset that, "if it was worth it, I would have put in the effort to succeed at it." So my answer is, no not worth it.

I want to be a stuntman so I can earn the belt buckle.

I knew a guy who used to do pyrotechnics for movies and TV shows, and that seems to be the coolest gig. Everyone wants to see something blow up, and you're there to do it lol.
