Worst instance of being wrong and casuals being right?

For me it was Brock beating Heath... All be it Dam Mirgliotta had something to do with that

After that maybe Mendes just dropping his hands vs Connor
I watched GSP-Serra I at a bar with some casual friends. My buddy Jay said that he thought Serra was going to win, mostly based on the poster. Said Serra looked serious. I laughed and explained that that was definitely not going to happen.

Brock beating Randy. In my defense, I didn't know who Brock was other than some guy from the WWE. Not aware he was an actual high level wrestler.

Also, Conor starching Aldo in 13 seconds had me surprised. Conor's standup looked pretty good, but Aldo was the longtime champ and a really good striker himself, also sparring hard with guys like Andy Souwer (K1 champ). Was unexpected to see him get faceplanted like that after 1 or 2 punches.

My worst pick was Glover beating Rumble. My friend who's into MMA got a ton of shit wrong but completely got me in that one

One of the fights that convinced me that I should not pick fights with so much confidence was Mir's first fight against Nogueira. I was watching the fight with my wrestling teammates in college and I was always the dude they would go to for briefing them on fights as I was the team's MMA nut that had all the trivia on all things MMA related. Well, I assured them that no matter what, Nog had a huge advantage everywhere, and then Mir went out there and was the first dude to ever defeat Nogueira by KO/TKO and it was not even close. Now I preface most of my predictions with acknowledging all possibilities; some fights more than others of course.

Same one for me. That fight stung! I'm glad i'm not a big gambler because my house would probably have been on Nog.

That was also the first of many appearances of Zombie-Nog. Still glad he managed a couple more wins afterwards though.

Yeah, he was not himself that night -- he had some nice big wins after that for sure.

Seems like Conor is the big culprit for turning hardcores into casuals. Reject the hype so hard that they fail to see Conor's actual skills
