Frankie Edgar vs. BJ Penn III
Not the biggest beatdown, but certainly lopsided.

Co-Main, Joanna vs Carla Esparza. Talk about an assault.
Haha, i was trying to think about that while I was writing the first response and nothing came to mind. He just utilized kicks more in general earlier in his career so it was natural to think that would be choice number 1 against Jones at the time . I remember feeling it was wishful thinking back then all the same lolYup, everyone was taking about Shogun leg kicks and Jones chicken legs lol.
A bit off topic but when was the last time shogun actually used leg kicks regularly in a fight? I remember him using it against Henderson 2 before getting tkod
I'd say Hunt vs JDS was worse, Hunt was just more exhausted against Stipe than anything...he lost that fight before it even began. Bad weight cut apparently, he looked so slow and weak.Stipe Miocic vs Mark Hunt.
That was hard to watch.
Fitch actually had gsp on the bottom and landed some shots.
Iirc this fight correctly there was a few times Erick landed since body shots that had Brown folding in on himself like a lawn chair.Erick Silva had his moments but Matt Brown wrecked him
Jon jones' destruction of shogun still hunts me. Shogun was the champ. Everyone thought his striking would be too much for Jon Jones. But in the end, he tapped to strikes. Shogun, the guy known for his chin and going to war, tapped to strikes.
This one was ridiculous.
Landed a real nice bodykick and then I think tried to rnc him. Certainly not a BJ Penn Sanchez kinda destruction but Brown beat the crap out of SilvaIirc this fight correctly there was a few times Erick landed since body shots that had Brown folding in on himself like a lawn chair.
Overeem vs brock lesnar was pretty sad but silva vs leben is also pretty sadJust saw the who can beat JDS prime thread and just reminded how much a beat down he took from Cain and how bad it was for him. I’m sure there’s lots more out there.
this was only UFC event i attended live. Had mid tier seats but still ended watching most of action on big screen. Was and still am major Shogun nut hugger. Disappointed to say the least.
Love hearing stories from people who attended famous fights live. Where did it take place? Was Shogun a heavy favorite? What did you think of Jones' chances going in?
