Woodley/Lawler 2016 UFC; still bad boxing fundamentals

You're right. and when it come to betting I always look for the guys with good boxing or good boxing defense. Problem is, there not many of them out there. it's just so bad it's not even funny. Who are some of the fighters that you think have good boxing fundamentals.
Stipe Miocic
Junior Dos Santos
Robert Whittaker
Michael Bisping
Eddie Alvarez
Doo Ho Choi
Jorge Masvidal
Ross Pearson
Michael Johnson
Al Iaquinta
Conor McGregor
Bobby Green
Joe Duffy
Diaz bros
John Lineker
Cody Garbrandt
Demetrious Johnson

mma fighters have to stop worrying about the takedown so much and actually do some guard

Edson Barboza found out the hard way he has a weak chin and now he keeps both hands tied up to his jaw all the time, didn´t affect his takedown defense and has helped a lot with his absorbition of strikes.

Honestly, beating Tyron is about never conceding to being the aggressor. Put Tyron against the cage and keep him there, that is where he performs the worst. Obviously, that is easier said than done. But Robbie seemed too content to let Tyron dictate the pace.

Gus and the Diaz brothers all take a ton of punches.

I take exception with Nate D. here. Maybe his most recent fight (Conor) biases you. Diaz brothers dish out a higher pain output than most.

Gus got Rumbled but his _fundamentals_ are great.

Dominick Cruz studied boxing footwork and has become virtually unhittable.
First off, Cruz is not some great boxer. Put him in a ting with an elite boxer and he'd be plenty hittable.

Secondly, there are no boxers that fight like him. What he does is hardly "boxing fundamentals."

Moreover, fighters in MMA have to play to their strengths. Dom's footwork works for him, but since 90% of MMA fighters couldn't do it, there's no point in wasting energy trying to copy it.

Imagine Demian Maia trying to do that shit...what would be the point?

Conor doesnt like do to head movement or block or evade, he prefers to eat a shot and counter because he knows he carries more power in the FW division, that won´t work for him at LW , Nate already showed that.

Woodley cut the right exit of Lawler in that exchange by using the cage and stepping left. Woodley then feinted with his left. Lawler responded to the feint by leaning away and moving to his left. He moved directly into that sweeping right's path and it caught him right on the beak.

Cruz learned from boxer Willie Pep and copied his style. Every good boxer has a bit specific footwork, the boxing fundamentals however are teaching you to be balanced, control the distance and range, pivot, lead your opponent into your punches etc.

Someone with great footwork (ie. "boxing fundamentals") would be unhittable in MMA. That's why your post doesn't make any sense. The point is that it does work in MMA but obviously not everyone can learn it, that's why you don't see a lot of high level boxing in MMA. But it doesn't mean it wouldn't work.

That is why Lando Vannata got choked boxing style head movement.

Yeah, but what Cruz does only works because of his takedown defense. Last time I checked, that wasn't part of boxing fundamentals.

Cruz adapted boxing footwork to fit his game and his athletic ability.

Boxing fundamentals will not make you unhittable at all if you are on your back.

That's why your posts don't make any sense.

Robbie was moving much more than he ever has ...

... until the moments before he got hit.

He said as much himself. Robbie agrees with the TS.
