Signings/Scouting WMMA Discussion #29

That's too bad :( which are the other prospects?
Unfortunately I wouldn't be that surprised if they cut her now, even if she has a 'valid excuse' it was a bad look going out like that and she's already been extremely inactive, possibly out for a long while again, and they aren't exactly the pity party over there (I'm still fuming that they cut Kanako Murata after a long time out with injury then getting hideously robbed in her comeback)...

I was gonna comment that Bleda seems to have formed the Central European WMMA powers training squad behind her, a good lil' camp with PUDDINGLOVER and CARROTSKATER, maybe they should send Ernesta to get revenge vs Horth, that would be a good fight.

Photo you shared is from Ankos which is gym in Poland. Bleda doesn't have coaches from there and is not affiliated with them by anyway. The problem with her main gym in my opinion is that she dont have any useable sparrings other than Pudilova, and with Pudilova she mettwice during this camp. So she spars with guys, atleast majority of this camp she did recording to some interviews. Like iam not saying that its some "jungle type shit" gym, definitely not...but its definitely not "best czech gym" as media here often present it.

Other than Bleda, Jakub Tichota was pretty succesfull AMMA fighter, lot of people predicted him big future, which kinda snowballed when he was 5-0 as pro. Now he had 4 tough opponent and is on 4 fight losing streak. Also Penaz in DWCS was kinda "tragedy" for Czech mma. Nowdays he canceled +- 2 fights in row due to injuries and aswell recently declined fight with Muradov for MW interim title....

looking over my ufc list i noticed this fact about no. of women's fights per year:
2023: 93
2024: 89
2025: 77
Someone on Reddit made a table of all 2025's bonuses as well, for the Womyn:

(this is what happens when Irene 'the Bonus Machine' Aldana doesn't/can't fight...)

I always though Cyborg was a well established high level grappler? Am i wrong here or are you just hating?

Not really. She won a couple of tournaments but mostly against overweight soccer moms. Rather like her MMA career it is her with years of training and drugs beating up on fattened up smaller women.

This is one of the reasons why 145 and up will remain shit divisions for a long time. Women who are in shape and athletic at that size get recruited (in the US at least) by sports like track and field where not only you avoid getting punched in the face but you get things like college scholarships.

CFFC is definitely the best thing going on for WMMA this weekend. The younger Martins sister defending her title in a winnable fight against a veteran (who, conveniently for Martins, hasn’t fought this year), and Karli Jo Thomas is a girl from my local area who’s been doing good things so far.

Sofiia Bagishvili finally in a winnable fight (opponent hasn’t fought since 2017). Jung Yun Choi in what looks like a gimme, but I don’t count out tough looking Aussie chicks.

Duangdawnoi vs. Regan Gowing

Duangdawnoi vs Islay Erika Bomogao for a tiny person belt would make a lot of sense, but don't have much faith in ONE to notice what they have. Bomogao just beat RWS's atomweight champ at the SEA games, and Duangdawnoi is the most popular smaller fighter in Thailand by far.

i was wondering who mongkutpetch lost to at SEA

I saw some WMMA account suggesting she may get signed to the UFC as she was ringside for UFC 323 card. That wasn’t the case. She’s works for Upper Sports Management. She was there supporting Manuel Torres who’s also signed to Upper Sports Management.

I like PFL scouting fighters from LUX. LUX is a playground for Upper Sports Management fighters, but they manage most of the best fighters from Mexico and their matchmaking is usually balanced.

With Sarai Orozco, Andrea Vazquez and now Victoria Alba signed to the PFL, I wish they would dissolve 115 and start 105. 2 of the better 105 fighters have fought in LUX in Julieta Martinez and Daniela Hernandez and they’ve had to fight at 115 and they were undersized. I know it’s a long shot as their goal is to get as many fighters signed to PFL and the UFC as they can and we all know they don’t have a 105 division.

Crazy fight for CFFC, certainly one I never expected, but happy this is happening for these two. Matsuda got a one and done during RTU last year. Guess she didn’t do enough to excite the matchmakers. Tursyn, of course, is coming off a win after losing the Octagon title earlier this year.

Not familiar with Evan’s, but it looks like all her wins her by stoppage, and so are Norton’s, so this should be exciting.
