Signings/Scouting WMMA Discussion #29

KK by DEC simply because I like her. If she were not so nice I would pick against her. She has taken a lot of damage over the course of her career.

Mesquita by SUB.

@fortheo what's happening to Princess KK tomorrow[omg1]
hop-on-the-cycle-frontier.gif

...that bad eh?
I think she has a lot better chance than the odds say, Polastri is 1-2 UFC and that 'win' was 'controversial' itself (& against someone who is an atomweight and now cut as well). If KK has anything left in the tank at all it could be competitive...
I have to go against popular opinion though and say I'm rooting for Polastri though, (i) we need the NEW and (ii) her nickname is 'psycho' and that's what I look for in a woman.
<{1-7}>

A little something: Kayla coming back to ATT to share the luv of her title win. KK gets a hug; Beer Mosquito does not get a hug (despite trying to reposition for one). Will the 'Kayla Blessing' boost KK to a win, and Bia to an L tonight? Let's see 🤔

I find Polastri to be rather entertaining. She’s grown on me, & I am happy to see her get a big name win.

Bia’s ground & pound is starting to become pretty sharp, but overall I feel like she proved nothing. I still think Alekseeva was a tailor made match up. They’ll probably give her Cowan next.

This is a great fight.

Beatriz Mesquita (6-0) earned a bonus for her submission of Irina Alekseeva (5-4). The IBJJF hall of famer made her Ultimate Fighting Championship debut against Alekseeva as a huge favourite. “Bia” dominated Alekseeva on the ground from the very onset and submitted her with a rear-naked choke in the second round.

Julia Polastri (14-5) also earned a POTN bonus for her knockout of Karolina Kowalkiewicz. “Psycho” battered Kowalkiewicz (16-10) on the feet from the opening bell and forced the referee to step in midway through the final round.

Fury FC 110 this Friday bringing four ladies bouts:

South Korea meets Russia in China on the 25th:

Choi should take this one. Looks to be the level of opponent she can usually take.

Deep Jewels 51 set for next month:

The top two bouts are the most interesting. After losing her title (and being set up to do so), Si Woo Lark moves back down to 108. She should be able to take Saaki. Main event between the legend Hamasaki and the perpetual underdog YeJi Lee should be interesting. Hamasaki is well past her prime, but should be able to beat Lee, who excels nowhere. If Lee pulls it off and evens out her record, she’ll have wins over three top Japanese names, two in one year.

I don't know if it's true (probably just forum/ig comment trash), but I read that Qatari investors wanted Shir pulled out of the title fight with Allycia Rodrigues. The idea being they don't want a champ from Israel atm.

Should be an easy win for former champ Alba. Don’t know anything about Tiny Mesa’s opponent, just glad to see Mexa get a fight this year. She doesn’t belong at strawweight, but LUX seems determined to stick to certain weightclasses.

Alina Dalaslan vs. Katharina Lehner[/QUOTE\
Should be a good cap on 2025 for Dalaslan. Lehner has the experience edge, but considering she’s 2-7 going back to 2018, I don’t think she’ll be a banana peel to Dalaslan

ONE has all sorts of fuckery going on, it sounds as plausible as anything else that happens there. i assumed that cohen was fighting at LWC as a post-injury tune up
