Signings/Scouting WMMA Discussion #29

RENA approaching the wall is not something I’ve prepared for

A few of years ago she said she wanted to retire soon and become a housewaifu(!). Evidently that hasn't happened... :(

...all I know is I'm not very good at keeping my place tidy (my toilet could do with a good clean right now tbh) and I like Japanese food a lot. Could there still be a place in this world for RENA's fairytale to come true?... if only someone could let her know... hey I know that 'Drake Riggs' guy has interviewed her, he's an admin here isn't he? C'mon Drake! help RENA realise her dreams before it's too late! it'll make you feel warm and fuzzy.

... at least, someone needs to intervene before she goes completely Ham

The younger Chandler sister will be back in action:

I like how when mma fighters go do grappling matches between fights, their unofficial universal policy is “yeah, I’m not cutting weight for this”

Sayury Canon was pretty steady with Invicta the last two years, and now this will be her second fight this year, both outside the promotion. Still no word on their next event yet, either.

SFT champ Bianca Sattelmayer has signed with KSW. She’s 11-12, but has won four straight in mma, and three straight in kickboxing fights in between those, so she’s really turned her career around. She’s also 1/3 of a weird Brazilian throuple

Sadly, Freeman’s upcoming fight is at flyweight, for some reason.

I like Chase. She’s a character, she’s intense, and she’s fun to watch. Bad brain fart in her last fight ended in her being DQ’d.

LFA is really pushing Bea Mesquita hard. Personally, I think she gets smeared in UFC. She looks exactly how you imagine a fighter fed carefully selected opponents to look. I think she collapses the first moment things don’t go her way.
Freeman would’ve pretty small for a BW & she fought mostly other women who can make 125 in CW. Where shes more of a striker I get it.

Bia didn’t look good against Fernanda Araujo or Hope Chase to me. I think they’ll sign her to UFC soon where she might be able to beat Alekseeva or Cowan. I get it too, she’s 34 so she has to speed run this, but she’s really not good at MMA yet.

pretty sure bia trains at ATT and i'll bet she's planning to run through bw with her jitz. there should be enough decent all-rounders now to make her think twice tho.

edit: according to roster watch there's only 31 wbws total on the ufc books, and that includes one-off bws like veronica hardy (macedo) and brogan walker. slim pickings

Alice *Pereira (5-0) vs Montserrat Rendon (6-1) Noche UFC Sept 13th
I’ve never seen Alice fight. Surprising to see someone get signed straight to UFC, but it’s bantamweight, so let’s go/

Not to be confused with Aline Pereira, the sister of Poatan

Alice’s record is all cans. She’s got the same manager as Ailin Perez who also came in as a cab crusher. Fair play to Perez as she’s proven to be decent, books still out on Alice till she gets some real fights. Alice definitely looks fast & athletic at least.

Not an all woman card, but the start of the women's FLW GP. The winner of the GP will win R$500K.

Yasmin Guimaraes was scheduled to face Viviane Pereira, but Viviane withdrew. Yasmin is still on the card from what I saw a few days ago.

The full card is on FF:

don't let those unfuckable losers get to you, that's what they want. block them and move on.

Honestly...
She's actually doing an impressive comeback run.
Her last 3 opponents are basically:
A 0-1 UFC vet
A 1-1 ONE vet who actually holds a win against Ayaka Miura, who is close to title contention there
A 11-11 girl

I believe she won't find success in KSW though. But still... I hope i'm wrong.

For the last, even though they gained media attention due to their polyamorous role, they actually have a serious business with their gym, sponsors and now, apparently, masseur job

Wasn’t Vidal a bantamweight in UFC?

When I saw Bianca Sattelmayer announce signing to KSW, first fighter I thought of was Wiktoria

I forgot about the Vidal matchup, but yeah, this makes way more sense. I think we all knew Vidal was never making bantamweight.

A can crusher from Brazil? Can’t imagine. Looked up her management. All-In Management. Not the biggest name, but they have a number of fighters in OFL, a couple in UFC. A bunch in tonight’s LFA card in Brazil

I mean, I’m not surprised. This forum has always been that way, same as it’s become increasingly irrelevant over the past 20 years I’ve been on here

Alina Dalaslan (2-0) vs Clara Ricignuolo (3-3)
Not mad at the matchup by the numbers. This is typical. One thing I don’t like is Ricignuolo hasn’t fought since January 2022, a loss. Not really gonna tell us where Dalaslan is, but it’s only her third fight, and in her country, so not mad. Glad Oktagon is keeping her busy. Third fight already this year.

DEEP JEWELS 50 has been announced for Sept 7:

These two fought over a year ago for the interim title. Seika Izawa finally returned the strawweight title, so Oark has been elevated to full champion. She hasn’t fought since. Had surgery and was nursing injuries. It was close last time. Probably MACHI’s best chance to win

Kate has evened out her record to 7-7 after winning 3 of her last 4. I thought Tominatsu had quietly slipped away from the sport. Apparently she picked up a win April last year over a debutante, after losing six straight

this week i got:
- lauren murphy, because she gives great post-fight speeches. also, moura only has lay 'n pray and that's right in murphy's wheelhouse.
- fatima kline, she's much stronger than super mely.

"...Finally, Fatima Kline was recognized for her work in the evening’s opening bout, as she received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for a finish of Melissa Martinez in a strawweight affair. Kline built a lead on the scorecards through 10 minutes, but she saved her best for Round 3,when she dropped her opponent with a head kick and sealed her victory with a barrage of punches at the 2:36 mark of the period."

Well ufc Bw doesn't even have a top 15 that's better than can crushers so she's should be able to get to 14th or 13th pretty easy and at 25 she can only get better.
