With his insane cardio, why isnt Cain ripped?

He's mexican.

He's as Mexican as Taco Bell

Simple question, would prefer serious answers, but I'm sure I'll get some bad ones.

Cain doesnt cut any weight before fights, he has solid strength and really good cardio, so why isnt he more ripped?

I'm sure since hes a fighter, he's on a pretty strict diet.

I mean no homo, outside of the Hunt, Nelson, DC, he probably has the worst physique of the quality HWs

Tbh, I think being ripped (especially as a heavyweight) actually hurts your cardio more than it helps being that more muscle means they require more energy to burn. So his extra flab is actually good because his muscles need something to feed off of, and that's why his cardio is so good.

While someone like Overeem (Or Ubereem for that matter) struggles with cardio issues being that he's big and ripped.

Ok let me dispel some of the incredible broscience.
Cain trains extremely often with high intensity and needs copious amounts of food to recover. To be on the safe side he eats in a caloric surplus, especially since he doesn't need to cut weight. On top of that he doesn't need to diet that hard so he can basically eat anything with meat and carbs (probably too much carbs)

Since his muscle have adapted to the cardiovascular workout he has done (specifically his heart which is a muscle that adapts to exercise) the amount of bodyfat he has is irrelevant because his heart and muscular endurance have already seen the changes and eating more does not affect that. Also fat does not require oxygen and take up energy. Although a ton of fat can make you heavier and hinder movement thus affecting how much energy you expend, Cain really doesn't have that much that would prove to be a hinderance. (Unlike Roy)

To all the people saying genes, quit spreading this misinformation.

He's a HW. He doesn't need to cut weight and being ripped isn't a priority for him. Thus he eats enough to carry some extra weight.

If he made being ripped a priority, genes would not hinder him.

Cain has an endomorphic body type meaning that he has an easy time putting on weight but has a hard time losing weight... Cain also probably doesn't do a lot of weight training to build esthetically pleasing muscles however is strength and conditioning is very high because he trains a lot and is a very hard worker... Add that to the fact he is a heavyweight and isn't overly concerned with the scale he is free to eat what he wants which in a Mexican background isn't the healthiest food which contributes to his "soft" physique...

Don't be fooled though, the man is a beast!

Diet. I remember on one episode of primetime he was shoveling white rice, beans, and white tortilla tacos down like nothing.

Simple. He trains himself for performance, not for looks. Same as Fedor.

Fedor had insane cardio back in the day as well, don't forget that.

Body fat doesn't give you energy during high intensity workouts(i.e MMA fight) but if he's ever stranded on a deserted island he'd be better off than a ripped man.

Lol at tortillas. In all serious I stopped eating tortillas with every meal and lost about 7-8 pounds.

Also Mexican is not a race but it is a nationality/ethnicity. I'm a Mexican born in the US just like the champ. You don't need to agree or understand. It is what it is.
