Winter or summer Olympics, which do you like wacthing better?

I tried watching the winter olympics and just fell asleep. I mean it is 80 degrees where I live right now so I don't relate to them at all.

not to be difficult, but holy fuck nobody else thinks, landing 10800000 degree rotational flips on to ice and snow, or careening down a fucking icy mountain face first balancing your nuts on a lunch tray isn't more impressive to watch than I can run really fast or really long?

These fucking skiers are going 90 mph plus racing against each other. The danger level of the winter sports and how many injuries and crashes these people endure to get to where they are is pretty fucking ballsy impressive, no? Compared to, stretch, run, stretch, hydrate.

Right now I could compete in the 100m sprint. I'd be dead last back by about 90m, but I'd finish the thing uninjured.

Send me down that ski jump chute and spread my ashes over the mountain once they dig my corpse from being impaled 17 feet deep where I landed

anyone else old enough to remember the superstars competition? The last 3 winners were all skiers, herman maier, bode miller, and jeremy bloom who was also a high level college and low level pro football player if I remember right. i didn't remember right, he got injured in preseason and never played a down in an official game..

these are athletes that combine, strength, speed, balance, reflexes, endurance and courage at levels most other sports like basketball or women's bikini sand dancing don't come anywhere near.

Your question was "Which do you prefer watching?" Your question wasn't "Do you think landing 10800000 degree rotational flips on to ice and snow, or careening down a fucking icy mountain face first balancing your nuts on a lunch tray isn't impressive?"

I appreciate what they're doing but I'm not going to choose to watch skiing, curling, the luge etc over more relatable sports that have a wide participation pool. Hockey is the only sport I'll choose to follow at the same level as some of the Summer sports.

As for the comment about the 100m sprint, that's the beauty of it. We're watching the best in the world competing in something everyone with two legs has tried. I remember some while back hearing about a few football players training for a couple of months and became Olympic bobsledders or some shit. The Winter sports are fun to watch and deserve respect but give me the Summer Olympics every day of the week.

Winter games are fantastic but ultimately don't hold a candle to the Summer games imo.

The true sports of merit are all Summer games (wrestling, running, lifting, women's beach volleyball).
