Yeah, my expectations are Pereira is moving up no matter what.

Maybe if he loses to Izzy he'll push for a trilogy. And the UFC goes for it. But there are factors that could help or hurt his case (Khamzat winning, etc.)

Either way Pereira vs anyone at LHW sounds fun.

He said something like on the third there was no point in getting tired trying to get up so he just rested.
And on the fourth he felt like resting as well, but he keep a little bit of pressure so Izzy would always have to do something and not rest as well.

So by resting in those two rounds he was much fresher on the fifth and came ready to kill.

Clearly it worked for him.

Paulo Costa was 211 in the cage against Yoel. Big as Pereira was, I don't see him being any bigger than that inside the cage.

Pretty much everyone is walking around 30-40llbs over their fighting weight.

Chandler just recently said he's currently over 190lbs - he fights at 155 - and is looking in decent shape. That's at the very least 35lbs over his division weight and during fight week is walking around over 170lbs.

Alex knows what he's doing and if it becomes an issue he'll move up or deal the consequences. Despite the hard cut to 185 he makes the weight. Unlike face-smashed, bearded hype job clowns who can't be bothered to make weight when they're gift wrapped a smaller journeymen on his way out.

Unless there's proof that Pereira went over 213 in the cage, I don't believe it.

His weight cut is absurd (more than 30lbs, from around 219) and clearly takes a tool in his body. He is able to keep his power, but his volume output is low and almost costed him the last fight.

Also it is hard to wrestle with such a drained body. As a LHW he will have much more energy in a division that is quite shallow.

And he is not a young fighter either, his career will be much shorter if he keeps with the insane weight cuts, his kidneys will eventually give in.

If he beats Izzy again he should challenge the LHW champ. He could be the next Double Champ.
