He haven't yet but it is a high risk. The guy cuts more weight than Paulo Costa. Can you point me towards a singular fight where he missed weight?
He can't be relied on to make weight?

Expecting a guy to miss weight when he's made weight in both MMA and kickboxing for a long time is a little ridiculous. He haven't yet but it is a high risk. The guy cuts more weight than Paulo Costa.
He said he wanted to conserve his energy and he did finish Izzy in the 5th round. I don't feel like looking for the source though.
thank u sirIt was on his fight reaction video with Glover: Poatan and Glover Teixeira - Reaction UFC281 Pereira vs. Adesanya - YouTube
He said something like on the third there was no point in getting tired trying to get up so he just rested.
And on the fourth he felt like resting as well, but he keep a little bit of pressure so Izzy would always have to do something and not rest as well.
So by resting in those two rounds he was much fresher on the fifth and came ready to kill.
213.8 actually. A 14.9% overnight increase.Expecting a guy to miss weight when he's made weight in both MMA and kickboxing for a long time is a little ridiculous.
Paulo Costa was 211 in the cage against Yoel. Big as Pereira was, I don't see him being any bigger than that inside the cage.
Yeah, for sure. I'm aware of these distinctions.213.8 actually. A 14.9% overnight increase.
That may be the highest increase in record at 185, but it is not the highest % increase on record across weight classes.
NOTE people conflate “walk around weight”, in camp weight, out of camp weight, and fight night weight on the daily in these forums.
Frustratingly and paradoxically, knowing some CSAC fight night weights only muddied the waters instead of add clarity lol we know how much Romero and Costa weighted for at least one fight, but we will probably never know how much he weighs on any given fight night.Yeah, for sure. I'm aware of these distinctions.
Poatan walks around heavy, but I doubt he's walking any heavier than Costa did here.
I would even be surprised if he got this high
My mannnnnn with the tool in his boddehHis weight cut is absurd (more than 30lbs, from around 219) and clearly takes a tool in his body. He is able to keep his power, but his volume output is low and almost costed him the last fight.
Also it is hard to wrestle with such a drained body. As a LHW he will have much more energy in a division that is quite shallow.
And he is not a young fighter either, his career will be much shorter if he keeps with the insane weight cuts, his kidneys will eventually give in.
lmao bustedNice try Izzy![]()
Can't weigh more than 15% above the contracted fight weight on fight night.. So 185 would cap you out at 212.75 lb or however they round that up or down. They'll cancel the fight otherwise.Someone remind me what the deal is in California regarding weight cuts that would prevent them scheduling him a fight there, as I cannot recall.
Tks
Poaton needs to beat Izzy for the 4th time then needs to fight Whittaker, Vettori, Cannonier, Costa & DuPlessis
Pereira runs about 218-220 in the cage. He is distinctly bigger than Costa and crosses over the line from huge middleweight to smallish LHW.Expecting a guy to miss weight when he's made weight in both MMA and kickboxing for a long time is a little ridiculous.

Gotcha, could not remember that at all, thank youCan't weigh more than 15% above the contracted fight weight on fight night.. So 185 would cap you out at 212.75 lb or however they round that up or down. They'll cancel the fight otherwise.
