Will Volk get respect if he beats Ortega convincingly?

Tbh if beating Holloway doesn't gain him respect not sure if anyone else will especially not Ortega. At least for awhile that's likely as hard as it'll get for him. Ortega just won one fight against a guy who took many years off(who was hyped for beating Frankie Edgar?) Like with Ngannou losing to the champ then winning fights when you go back down doesn't do anything to suggest the first loss was a fluke until a rematch proves it. This is definition in putting too much stock in the importance of what just happened.

We are just going to see how far along Ortega is in his progress. This is a great opportunity for him to track his progress and gauge the adjustments he needs to make.

The Ortega from a couple years from now is going to be one of the best to ever step in that cage, mark my words.

I hope you still have your courage Khabib.

WARTEGA!

go ahead laugh.

UFC1.. Pride 1.. Champions out of Torrance.
See Our best fighters are enough for us, no more generational talents are needed when you've been so spoilt like we have with Michael Bisping and

They were very entertaining.

Bisping gave his eye to the sport... What a savage!

It's amazing how this sport brings so many people from so many parts of the world together!

Thank Dana for all his hard work in making that a reality in 2021.

I don't really consider Overeem one of our Talents, as cool as he is ... Love Mike though.

Leon Edwards likely our only hope any time soon.

It really is, I love Sherdog... Dana brought the fights, i'm proud of him for that... I'm not thankful for everything he's done though :)

Nah. He's done for me. He held Aldo against the cage kneeing him in the thigh for three rounds and then celebrated like he beat him down like Holloway.

Only 4 minutes of the 15 minute fight against Aldo was in the clinch. I'm not sure how that equals three rounds in your mind.

I've been on the Volkanovski train since his first UFC fight. He's an absolute beast. I understand some people think he's a point fighter, but he's been beating the very best fighters in the world.

If he beats Ortega convincingly 50-45 some people will still hate. Even if he crushes Ortega some people will still be salty. Not sure what he needs to do TBH.
Even if you don’t think he beat Max.. which in my opinion he did, dude made Max who normally destroys people look pretty average. Dude deserves respect, I don’t get the hate

Its gonna take beating Max a third time and doing it convincingly. If he does that how do you not respect him? He'd have Mendes, Aldo, 3x over Max and Ortega on his resume.

But alot of people still consider Max the best FW in the world. What Volk shouldnt be doing is shying away, I understand his reasoning a bit, like yo are you just gonna make me continue to fight him until he beats me and all is right in the world? Cause say Max wins a third fight, you think they run back a 4th right away? Volk will have given him 3 fights out of 4 and he damn sure wont get an immediate rematch.

On the flipside if you really want to put a stamp on it and end this rivalry you gotta go out there and settle it once and for all and if you do that its over.

Volkanovski isn't finishing anyone anytime soon. His coaches had already set a precedent on how he should conduct the rest of his championship career, decisions is what he and the rest of his team will aim for. Hooker tried that game plan against Chandler, that is why he didn't look like himself, same with Adensanya against Jan. This team is aiming for the success via decisions & point fighting.

It was a thoroughly forgettable fight and quite frankly, that's all I can remember about it.
