Was just thinking about this.
The UFC always had a structured model that led to title fights being the most important fights to watch. Things changed though with Conor and allowing him to take on RDA at 155 with no prior fights at Lightweight (in the UFC). After RDA pulled and Nate was announced as McGregor's opponent a huge level of excitement was reclaimed for UFC 196 from the fans.
Nate and Nick have always wanted the big money fights and to me there's no reason to deny them anymore. Conor vs Nate broke every record the UFC has ever had (from Dana White at post fight presser).
Why not make Robbie vs Diaz II? It's one of the better fights to be made right now. Pettis vs. Aldo, Shogun vs Anderson and Jones vs Weidman sound good too.
You think we'll see more fights like what went down at UFC 196?
