The NHL, NBA, nor MLB have said anything about banning Russians (Currently there's a grand total of zero participating in the MLB and NBA) and as of this week the MLB season is cancelled. Why bring up American leagues specifically to lie on?

Lol. Nice. Anyone who thinks such situations are clean vs dirty is stupid. It’s just a matter of who’s the dirtiest. There is still a moral high ground. The US was stupid to play chicken with Russia in the Ukraine with a megalomaniac such as Putin. Also, it’s ok to say Putin is a madmen who made a ridiculous decision and still admit the US is far from clean in this situation. His comment was that the Russian people would turn against their president. While unlikely, that sentiment is viable. Most Russians to not pine for the old USSR the way that Putin does. He may be acting for what he believes is the true benefit of the Russian people, but that doesn’t mean they agree, or feel risking WW3 was worth it

I normally would agree that UFC takes the wrong side morally, but in this case there’s no sense in punishing fighters who have nothing to do with the situation. Now if they said something in support of Putin’s ongoing genocide attempt, I could see cutting them as it’s akin to supporting Hitler in 1945. But just being Russian isn’t a crime, most of them didn’t want this war.

I also find it troubling that their has been little to no discussion/coverage about Putins assertion that this is a special military operation to remove the nazis from Ukraine. Not because there is any validity to it, but because the kyov party’s role in the Ukrainian civil war was integral in the Ukrainians success. And their history and current belief system is troubling at best. There is enough truth to the problematic nature of the kyov party that with a little bit of propaganda, the Russian people can be convinced that this is truly a special military operation and not a megalomaniac’s fetish war. And the 8000 anti war protesters arrested? Can you imagine if it was the US doing this? There would be 800,000 arrested on day one. Biden has enough guilt and knowledge of why this invasion occurred to not risk US troops to stop it. Problem is, I think it’s a fantasy land to expect anything other than a Russian occupation of Ukraine. And then what? Talking about making your bed and having to sleep in it for the US…
 
The US has also committed pretty horrific crimes and wars in the Middle East, so why their athletes were not banned from participating in WW sport events?
