Will MMA be the death of the ancient arts?

They are not entirely inferior. If you look it up there are videos of shaolin monks fighting people with that stuff and actually wrecking. It's just that for it to be effective u have to be an absolute master of it.

Dude stop kidding yourself. When Mcgregor can't kick, clinch too long, or grapple in any way, shape or form, Floyd beats his ass. Therefore, boxing > MMA.

So when a fighter cant use his fighting skills to fight someone that is a specialist in one that somehow makes boxing better haha. I'd say it says the opposite.

If mayweather beat mcgregor in an mma fight i would agree. But the fact that connor can even compete at the highest level shows mma > boxing.

The fact that mayweather wanted to take the majority of his opponents tools away also proves that mma > boxing.

If boxing was superior to mma mayweather wouldnt have a problem fighting mcgregor in mma as why would he if boxing was the superior fighting style.

acutally the chances of winning a mma match as boxer is waaaaaaaaaaaay higher than winning a boxing match as mma <{Heymansnicker}> who cares if boxing > mma or mma > boxing ... fucktards {<jordan} joined 2016 and still full of shit.

So boxing is better when you limit %90 of what can be used in a fight? No fucking way man.

Thanks for taking the time to check my registration date. I havent taken the courtesy of checking yours cos it makes not one little bit of difference lol.

Ive been reading these boards for over 5 years lol. But finally decided to reply to some of the fucktard posts. Lol.

I feel honoured in the effort you went to reply. Thanks :)

It basically is. There are a few guys with mediocre MMA skills goading TMA masters into contests and beating the shit out of them. It's just a matter or time before it all goes away in terms of people wanting to become students of TMA.

TMA guys have basically no idea what to do once a punch connects to their face. It's kinda depressing to see actually.

lol thats a almost 60 year old man getting punched for the first time in his life by a 20'sh year old fit young man. Tai chi is not a offensive art is used to train the mind and relaxation is got nothing to do with 1 on 1 combat don't why this match was made.

Pankration or MMA is the ancient Martial Art, named in honour of the god Mars.

A boxing champion gave us this so I'll be forever in debt to boxing:

You do realize Muay thai, Full contact karate styles, Judo, JJ, BJJ and many others all fall under TMA right?

Like kungfu, wing chun, etc., now when we know that those styles are far inferior?

Not everyone who chooses to study a traditional martial art does so to become a cage fighter or bar room tough guy. Many just enjoy the physical exercise, the mental discipline and the traditional aspects. Most TMA practitioners I know have no interest and/or knowledge of MMA.

May seem like a foreign concept to the douchebags on this retard farm, but hey...<45>

is this the one where the mma guy had to go in hiding after when it was all said and done?

<TrumpWrong1>

The Tai Chi guy was 41 and the (self taught) MMA fighter was 38.

"After being beaten down in 10 seconds in a highly-publicized match with a MMA fighter last week, a disgraced Tai Chi "master" has now blamed that embarrassing loss on his "slippery shoes."

41-year-old Lei Lei, the founder of the fledgling "Thunder-style" of Tai Chi in Chengdu faced off against 38-year-old Beijing-based MMA fighter, coach and promoter Xu Xiaodong, known by fans as a "madman" for his ruthless aggression in the ring. Prior to the match, which was live-streamed to more than a million viewers, Xu insulted traditional Chinese martial arts, saying that they were all about style with no substance.

He then put that belief to the test. About 10 seconds after the fight began, it was over with Xu taking Wei to the ground and pummeling his face with punches in front of a large crowd in Chengdu. The Tai Chi master hadn't managed to get in a single blow, a fact that he has since blamed on his choice of footwear."

Lol at rubber soled shoes being slippery on rubber mats...

It will but I also predict that as MMA increases in popularity boxing will decrease and MMA will eventually dethrone boxing. I also think that following a larger decline in Boxing that kickboxing has the room to increase more given the fact that it is more exciting to casual fans.

Shame that a giant popular muay thai organization doesn't exist like the UFC with that power. However, I could realistically see Glory increasing in popularity. Now if only they'd add elbows!
