Will MMA be attractive to young athletes of the next generation?

I don't think so. MMA fighters are constantly failing tests, getting injured, crying about money, and trying to venture into boxing (it's almost as if they're acknowledging a mistake). UFC is dying and the other promotions were never alive to begin with. The biggest star hasn't fought in 500 days and will depreciate in value significantly should he face top competition upon his return. Why should any young athlete of the next generation join this sport instead of, say, boxing?

Boxing is poor people sport
Hey in Boxing they make this replacement of fighters ?

Boxing is a man's sport.

Big boxing matches rarely get canceled, but when they do there are often replacements.

Like there's a replacement for Tony - Khabib in Max - Khabib?

Hell no. The way we’re going with extreme political correctness we will be raising an entire generation of overly sensitive kumbaya singing pansies. MMA will be outlawed and replaced with competitive tree hugging, in a safe space of course.

it hurts mma fans to acknowledge the truth

I do not think it will be attractive for many reasons that are way too long to list.
I believe it will always be around but will never have the upper echelon of athletes and I believe in the future the talent pool will dwindle down even more

Except for WMMA, it will probably remain a niche sport. The top athletes of the world who can make it will continue to gravitate towards professional Soccer, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, and Boxing for the money and fame.

Female athletes. They rightfully get paid far less in other sports but MMA pays them the same because Ronda was a superstar when the UFC desperately needed stars.

I don’t pay attention to what Rogan say, or anyone else for that matter. I don’t do social media, and i don’t keep up with who says what .

I don't know, with everything we're learning about brain trauma and CTE and the current method of helicopter parenting special snowflakes, it seems pretty unlikely that we're going to see an influx of kids going into this sport.

Unlike boxing it's actually pretty expensive, so it doesn't even have that "common man's sport" thing going for it.

I guess there's always the chance MMA becomes an outlet for the male aggression and competitiveness that many aspects of society increasingly stifle...

Nope, the outlets for these things has and will continue to shift towards video games and internet trolling.

Vanity could be a big negative for many. When they see cauliflower ears or Joe Riggs they will be horrified.

Very true. I think MMA will decline as a male sport but grow as a female one. Only tennis and golf give women opportunities to become millionaires as far as pro sports go. And those have high barriers for entry and much higher skill and athleticism required than MMA. Basically every bored college grad girl who wants to tone up joins an MMA gym or CrossFit. There is going to be a huge pool of soccer moms hungry to compete.

MMA is far too tough for the soy boy generation.

Is MMA willing to open up more towards CIS (ex-soviet) fighters? Because boxing has been going that direction for a while now. Historically CIS boxers stayed in amateurs doing very well, but recently more have opted the professional route (most recently Central-Asians), but there's still lot of politics (country and especially what promoter you're with, determines if you get a fair shot in the boxing game).

MMA has just recently been easing that way, but there's still barriers. For example: Bellator seems to have a blacklist on North Caucasian fighters. They've got some Russian fighters but they're all teammates of Fedor. That's like signing American boxers but barring Blacks/Hispanics. How do you bar the dominant contingent? There's still some issues in the UFC as well. I've noticed all the Caucasus fighters in the UFC are through Ali AbdelAziz, which means they don't really have any other method or drive to sign these guys beyond just one manager. That's not very attractive if you ask me. What happens when he's not around? Or better yet, he can't possibly sign all the fighters. Which explains why a large chunk of them are friends/teammates of Khabib. I'd like to see more variety and more people given a shot. Its way too much politics (its about who you know....which is only Khabib and Ali, at this point).

Plus the risk of CTE is probably far less in the women's game since they don't hit as hard and I doubt male brains are more resistant to make up for it.
