If Jones is able to land one I think it will come in rounds 4-5 when /if he is up on eye pokes. I mean points...... Cormier is gonna maul him though so don't count on it

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

They were talking about it.....who can take who down....I won't be surprised if jon will. Am picking jon to beat Cormier

Why do ppl keep ragging on Jones' legs like they're some weakness? Some dude's have tremendous strength in tiny little legs and Jones is obv one of them. It's so funny that ppl think you need to have these huge bulging muscles to be strong. It's just not true. Nobody who actually trains with high level to elite level guys can possibly still believe this crap. When I was 12 I wanted to look like Arnold because I thought that was the only way to be strong. I was wrong. If you think Jones' legs are weak or fragile because they are small you are outing yourself as very inexperienced.

I won't question the strength of his legs in that regard, but I'd seriously question their ability to sustain damage

Jon Jones trying to take Cormier down will be like him trying to move a fire hydrant. Good luck with that. IF Cormier could get inside on him, he will clinch, push him on the fence and dirty box him all night.

I think Jones might land some kind of trip takedown at some point but not hold down Cormier for long.

I think he'll try it but i wouldn't bet on it's success. I mean Cormier has made his entire wrestling and MMA career fighting guys much taller than him, and his MMA career at a big reach disadvantage to nearly everyone he's ever fought.

A key factor in this fight is how well can DC deal with JJ's extended fingers at eye level. If he doesn't find a way around that then he is in for a long night. If he succeeds in clinching with JJ, then DC could make it a real fight.

Therefore expect high level of face raking...

I don't think Jones will be looking for the take down against Cormier, and I don't think he can if he couldn't take Gus down. I do see him easily out striking him though. I don't think Cormier will be able to get on the inside. He'll just eat elbows as soon as he gets close.

He can try but this will happen.

He's going to join the NFL??? Holy shit!

I don't think he'll even try it. Jones has that one two eye poke down to a science now. He'll use that to maintain range until DC closes said range, pins him up against the cage then ragdolls him worse than he did to Hendo. It's not going to be a fun night for fans of Jonny Bones.

I can't wait.

Your tears are going to be very delicious. Do you have your excuses ready?

Its funny how serious and personal sherdoggers act. Youd swear it was Jones and DC themselves posting in this thread lolol.

Jones will try to take Cormier down if he gets the opportunity.

All part of Greg Jackson game planning.

Most likely it's as useless as Kennedy trying to take down Yoel.

But if he happens to get him hurt or some other opportunity, he will definitely go for it to get Cormier into a position where he's uncomfortable.

No way.

He'll go with the talk to the hand, kick the knees, throw the elbows strat.

I predict 5 round decision win via eye fingering

TS is on a roll with these thought provoking threads. FWM would be proud

Jon Jones has always beat guys at their strengths, he decided to outwrestle Chael, get in close with Glover, strike with Vitor and Shogun.

I think he will prove a point and take down DC, and beat him up there.

So tired of this nonsense.

Glover is a boxer, not a catch-wrestler or a Thai plum master. Jones didn't like trading punches at range with Glover in the 1st round, that's why he took the fight to the clinch, because he'd have the advantage there. Stop believing everything Rogan screams during commentary.

Jones took Vitor and Shogun down and beat them severely on the ground in those fights, and it made a huge difference to how the standup played out.

Jones outwrestled Chael because Chael is a middleweight. Look how easy Rashad outwrestled him too. Bader or Davis would've overpowered him with ease as well.

In saying that, it's still possible Jones takes DC down. He's a great wrestler himself, unorthodox and explosive.
