what? shogun beat him by timing and counterstriking him, rampage got gifted a win for no real reason, jones beat him because he's simply better

hendo lunges and reaches and puts all of himself into power punches, that leaves room for machida to counter

machida also has the best take down defence of anyone of those guys you mentioned so that's one less avenue for hendo to attack machida

why would it be? Its a co main non title fight, it has no reason to be 5 rounds

it SHOULD be. it SHOULD be a headliner, but it isnt, therefore it cant be a 5 rounder.

But for people who say ''it should not be a 5 rounder because Hendo will gas'', well then Hendo should not even be considered for a titleshot if he is not able to take 5 rounders.

Even IF for some reason Ronda vs Carmouche is cancelled, or moved to another card or whatever and Hendo vs Machida becomes the headliner, the bout was already signed as a 3 rounder and will remain as such, no way Hendo accepts to make it a 5 rounder on short notice (less than 2 months).

unless either Hendo or Machida is injured and the fight is postponed, I see no way for it to be a 5 rounder LIKE IT SHOULD BE.

5 rounds would be good but to be honest, it really wouldn't matter. Neither guy is a cardio machine and if Dan wins, it'll be a finish. Machida really isn't very good at swarming on guys after he's dropped them and I don't think he'll 1 punch KO Dan so I think this will be a Machida UD. Nothing spectacular would happen in rounds 4 and 5 anyway.

It really should be the main event, and we all know ronda wont need five rounds to find liz's arm. That said, there is no way they make it anything but a 3 round fight because it would set a bad precedent for co-mains where its possible that two 5 round fights that go to decision would take up a majority of the ppv time and we would get less fights guaranteed to air.

That's not true at all, there have been several cards with 2 title fights, we still saw a 5 fight main card as per usual.
