Will any present LW break the title defense record?

Did you not watch the weigh-ins? The last two times that Khabib weighed in, he did so with extreme difficulty. He either had to retire or go back to welterweight (where he fought before coming to the UFC). Continuing to try to make lightweight wasn't an option for him.

He didn't even make weight per the video footage of his official weighin versus Gaethje. Pretty obvious he was above 155.

Dude clearly stops the scale before it comes to a complete stop and you can see it was moving in a manner that he was above 155.

Most probably, LEWIS540 is thinking of Pulver as well (in the post above this one).

One of the things I hold against Khabib. He should've broken the record at 4. I think Oliveira will actually beat Gaethje but I can't see him beating Islam or Dariush. Just my personal opinion. So he'll sit at 2. Islam can get 4 I think if he wins.

If somehow Oliveira does beat Islam/Dariush after Gaethje I think that could entice Khabib back into a fight and that could be his 4th defense.

It's a 3 way tie currently with BJ, Khabib, Edgar*, and Bendo all having 3 successful title defenses. Khabib more than likely would've held the record but he chose to retire, ending that possibility. Everly other LW title holder has only had 1 defense or none. And with LW being the shark tank it is, can anyone make it 4?

A draw is technically a retention and not a defense but if you follow the philosophy of "you have to beat the champ to be the champ" then a draw is a defense because the champ didn't lose.
