You know you’re going to get mauled for 15 or 25 minutes if you can survive for that long.

Someone like Conor or anyone has a punchers chance at best.

fuck i hate the state of mma matchmaking. How about the best fighters fight each other because that is what the sport is supposed to be about?
 
-To make themselves a more notable name if they believe they can defeat him.
-To get a certain indescribable thrill for taking on a huge challenge and winning.

Those would be a couple of obvious ones.
 
I'm sure a lot of fighters feel they can beat Khabib. If you're in this sport and you're not in it to be the best, what are you really doing?
