Why wasn’t there an instant rematch between Khabib vs Conor?

Tbh I'm sure neither of those guys wanted an instant rematch. Too much shit has gone down.

Time had passed....then Khabib, rightfully so considered himself done w conor's schenanigans and said let Conor beat 10 contenders to get at him again. But Conor only fought Cerrone at 170. That was all he could manage.

Conor didn't deserve it. Khabib hated him so much the ultimate victory was to beat up him and his team, live rent free in Conors head forever and never ever give him the chance or redemption, lol and it worked perfectly. Conor is STILL traumatized by the whole saga.
Also if they rematched Conor would get wrecked again, no point.

Khabib didn't want. He kept saying that he wanted to fight rightful contenders and that Conor would need to win 10 fights to earn another title shot because that's how much it took him for a chance at the belt. Basically Khabib trolled him

But that was after awhile.

I think both guys put so much into the first match, no one wanted a second fight right away. Imagine all the media and flying dollies...like everyone's probably exhausted hahahah

Both guys too rich for this shit.

1) There was too much ugliness. A rematch would mean extra security, probable incidents behind the scenes, more over-the-line insults from Conor, which would have repercussions that Dana did not want to deal with again, and who knows, maybe next time something worse than a dolly through a bus window would happen, which in itself could have been worse than it was. 2) The match wasn't close. Khabib dominated. Rematches are much more likely to happen after a close match. 3) After Khabib had completed his 9-month suspension, Dustin was the Interim champion, so it made sense to have a unification fight.

To be 100% honest its "cool" to hate on Conor on these websites. As Sherdog continues to fall away in users its mainly the haters who remain.

Khabib stated multiple times, he hit Conor the hardest he's ever landed a punch on ANYONE in ANY competetion or on the street. When Conor didn't even go down (Khabib's words) and only dropped to a knee for a fraction of second before trying to attack again. It changed Khabib, he knew he would win an MMA match but never wants to see Conor on the street.

Going to need a source on this one, since it was stated multiple times

It's telling Conor not only didnt push for a fight w Islam, but he didnt even push for a fight with Tony when the Khabib fight fell through. Dude could only go after someone he beat before and thought maybe he could do it again. Revenge was never a possibility.
