Featuring Heavyweight? (TUF 10)
only 1 of 24 for by the end of the year...

Is it that hard to find 16 average Heavyweight around the world?

Thought?

Anyone who can fight HW is trying to make the practice squad of an NFL team.

Maybe it is because people can't relate to a house full of 250 lbs all muscle beasts..

But I am not a TV executive so I'm not sure.

Because there's a real lack of elite heavyweights, and the vast majority are probably not terribly interested in going through the whole TUF deal.

The avg male is 5 foot 10 at 170lbs.

Yes its hard to find hws who are athletic and not in the nfl.

Did you see some of those HW fights in the house?

Lots of gassing after 1/2 a round.

They should make a TUF featuring Kongo, Mittrione, Rosholt and any other half decent heavyweight who's been cut by the UFC recently except offer a better contract than originally.

Nobody watches a reality show about fat people unless they are being constantly fat shamed

Season 2 had heavyweights.

They don't use heavyweights often because there isn't much talent and the fights are awful.

Kongo and Mitrione both have exclusive contracts with bellator

There was a TUF Brazil season that featured HW's, however I think only a few of the guys were real HW's, the majority of the guys from the show have dropped down to lower weight classes since then. Also Season 2 featured HW's.

I think the reason why we don't see a lot of HW seasons is because skilled HW free agents are hard to come by, would be hard to fill up an entire cast without dipping into guys who already failed in the UFC/Guys who are just beginning their careers (I.E TUF 10).

Kongo and Mitrione are gonna rock each others worlds

you answered your own question. On top of this they dont want tie up this division.

After a good research, KSW, M-1 have a few good name.
Bellator also a few younger guy but nothing really impressive.
Most of descent HW are sign elsewhere...
yup Heavyweight are hard to find.

PS. Geronimo Dos Santos
Wasn't this guy sign by the UFC a few year back?
He loss to Minakov on his last fight.
36-16 *25 ko/tko* (16-4 last 20)
How good is he? seem like a fun HW to watch.

Having to fight guys weighing 250lbs is scary and high risk. Most fighters cut down to fight smaller guys at lhw, even if it means they almost starve to death.

If they make a HW TUF, everyone will cut down to lhw when its over.

Look at TUF 2,both rashad, the winnnr of the show at HW,and Keith jardine cut to lhw pretty much immediatley after the show was over.

People seem to forget facts like this.
It is a much smaller talent pool. Plus I'd be willing to bet there is a bit of a reverse Napoleon-like syndrome that plays a roll--bigger guys don't have anything to prove because they are already visually physically imposing. So, they are less likely to become fighters.

America is full HW so they have a hard time trimming it down to just a few for the show.
