Why some countries don't have any/more fighters in the UFC ?

The Americas hold the majority of the fighters signed by the UFC, but they'll always sign prospects from Europe and everywhere else when they pop up. I know is an American company, but i don't think they'd have problem raising the numbers of fighters from other parts of the world.

I might be wrong, but it seems like MMA is either ignored or despised in some places, that are usually well known in the Martial Arts circle.

Might be an Elitist point of view making it hard for people to join mma in those places, but i'm pretty sure we should see more talent from other countries, for example, Germany, Spain, South Africa, France, Argentina, Portugal, even Mexico, like, not Mexican-Americans, straight outta Mexico really.

Most of them had success in other forms of martial arts but hardly any in MMA. I know that is hard to support MMA in those places if it doesn't turn into a fever, but how come they're not around as much as they could in MMA ? seeing that the UFC wants to expand around the world, would be vital to have a couple prospects from other parts of the world.

I bet Brazil and USA aren't the only pools of talent, matter of fact if we do it, anywhere in the world they can too. Brazil is a 3rd world country going through economic crisis and corrupt government that only supports Football *soccer*, and we still do well in sports, MMA is a good example. Hell even Ireland had their moment of fame, and the countries i mentioned still far behind, what's up ?

Iceland is in there.
What more do you want?

because they get beat out too quickly because they typically produce one dimensional fighters.

It just depends where the best gyms/coaches are. If Jackson-Wink and AKA moved to India then after a few years the best fighters would be Indian.

And that is great, why can't we have more of that ? BR/Muricans still the outnumbering majority. I think the number 1 MMA promotion in the world should look around for more talent.

Speaking for South Africa, we don't really have much of a combat sports culture here.
We've got MMA, but the talent pool is crazy shallow, and the training is pretty far behind a place like the States.

Some of the greatest came from pretty much unknown gyms.

And imagine... some countries do better in the winter Olympics than the summer games. I wonder why ?

I think it has a whole lot to do with the company being based in the USA.

We don't always have the best gyms too, yes BJJ is great and there's a Gracie Academy nearly everywhere, but is not like we learn other arts properly, european gyms made way more Kickboxers/Judo/Karate/Wrestling guys than brazil ever will, yet we're around MMA that much. I know the old vale tudo culture helped to cement MMA as one of our "passions", but still, the support around it is not one of the best. Unless you can pay a lot or is a prospect to train at the best Gyms in Rio/Sp/Curitiba.

One day there will be a champion from Antarctica !

... one day

Bernardo's been dead for four years and was inactive for ten before that. You're really reaching here.
Boxing and kickboxing used to be big, so did Judo, but times change. I'm not saying the combat is non-existent, it's just greatly diminished.

we've got "Soldier Boy" at the moment, but again, the examples are few and far between.

Well yeah they might have been little known gyms, but presumably the coaching the fighters received was at a high level.

That is sad.
I remember seeing the flag quite a lot in the 90's

I know, and i mentioned it. But they're clearly expanding over europe, wouldn't it be beneficial to hold events there with main eventers/prospects being from there ? Look how the UFC 198 is great and is a brazilian card. We could have that everywhere in the world, or am i dreaming too much? They did with Japan and Ireland too.
