Why Romero Beat Costa (Statistics)

lol the fuck? do you think this is some charity event? why the fuck would yoel be concerned about Costa? what a dumb post.

Fuck off you 200 post casual.

You clearly missed my point.. he eyepoked his opponent after he just got clocked, and then proceeds to hang on the fence taking big deep breaths for a while then conveniently comes out with a much needed gastank boost.

he did fight kinda dumb, i agree. Yoel probably doesn't care that much man...millionaire.
It was the same story as the Bobby Knuckles fight(s)

He's durable as fuck and even when you are objectively winning a fight you may come out worse for wear. But if he would fight smarter this razor close fights would clearly be in his favor.

He is not getting paid that 27 million. The company is just some dead end company. Yoel knows he aint getting paid.

Sherdog hates Yoel so they don't care if the judging was BS

That is BS bro! lol. Yoel had WAAAAAAAAAAY more threads rooting for him, as well as way more people rooting for Yoel in the live PBP discussion. Like 85% of people were rooting for Yoel

nah you can quiet down there ya angry teen incel. Who fuckin cares if Yoel stands and prays for his opponents health, recovery and future vs catching his breathe against the fence. it doesn't imply anything fishy. In your fucked up head, Yoel should be sucking his dick and begging for forgiveness for some reason.

You are just a kid. Enjoy your ban. Peace.

Can you post the stats for round 2 and see if it outweighs the fact that Costa moved forward the entire round?

Maybe time is just catching up on him? I was disappointed, I'm a big Yoel fan but he just fought like someone with ZERO urgency.

lmao buddy I've been banned more times in 2004 than you crying about your dad beating you and taking your anger out on sherdog. I ain't gonna be banned over some incel trying to take his anger out on me.
If you want to see 2 guys "caring" about each others health, go watch some porn if that's your cup of tea, just keep your black energy away from me you weird fuck. now go report me so you can feel big for once in your life.

Rogan is his #1 shill and he always talks about how he is conserving energy and then exploding, but that was barely the case last night. The cheap double leg to try and steal round 2 after doing nothing most of the round.. its like... why not do that more? He should have had a big grappling advantage but he didn't want to. Then when he did get active letting his hands go he was throwing a lot of punches with nothing behind them.

Idk. People acted like it was some robbery or razor close decision. To me the judges nailed it . 29-28 Costa, where'st the controversy?

Yoel did the majority of his work in round 3. From a round to round standpoint Costa clearly won rounds 1&2 then clearly lost round 3. Banger of a fight though!

Agreed. I was waiting for Yoel to do anything to take back the rounds but he literally did nothing. 2 min into the 3rd round I already gave up hope and just got angry watching him do nothing. Or its his camp, maybe he needs a head coach that will prioritize the usage of his wrestling skills. Someone like him could have insane success with an early takedown and OG Tito-like GnP.

Significant strikes: Romero outlanding
romero: 125
costa: 118

Strikes to the head: Romero landed 43.3%!!!!!! more punches to the head (contains the brain and should be regarded as more effective than strikes to the leg/body).
romero: 96
costa: 67
Romero outstruck costa to the head in every round.

Round 1: both had a knockdown but costa's knockdown was the most significant strike of the fight. Romero landed 4 more strikes to the head but was outstruck in total by 5.
10-9 costa

round 2: Yoel out strikes costa in total strikes, strikes to the head, strikes to the leg and gets the only takedown of the fight. The only stat Yoel loses out on is body shots.
10-9 romero

round 3: Romero lands more total strikes, LANDED 87.5% MORE HEAD STRIKES and more strikes to the leg.
10-9 romero

29-28 romero

Costa landed the most effective strike of the fight but Yoel clearly hurt Costa several more times than Costa did Yoel. I have no clue how the judges gave Costa a unanimous decision most of his strikes were blocked by Yoel. Costa i feel got way more credit just because people didn't expect him to do so well.

The guy ended up in a wheelchair.

Romero only one the last 1.5-2 minutes of round 2, he got worked the other 3 ish minutes.

> Agreed, some of those strikes by Yoel were simply jabs. Costa was throwing big hooks to the chin.

I can't say Yoel won, but do the UFC judging rules differentiate between big shots and small jabs? "Significant strikes" isn't in the judging rules.

Jabs aren't real head shots. They're like a push away.
Yoel's didn't get a real knockdown, he caught Costa off balance
Last second takedown in Round 2 should be proof that Yoel knew he was losing the round

Costa was never hurt.
Yoel had to resort to eye pokes.
Body shots aren't real shots if they don't hurt, and Yoel didn't seem to be phased by any bodywork. Meanwhile the 2nd round 2 last minutes he was the one phasing Costa with head punches, even landing a takedown.

.
This is where it gets tricky judging. What are your criteria of winning the round? Going by time alone is like going by statistics alone. Costa started strong but Yoel took over and finished strong.

I thought Yoel won but it was close.

I also realize Whittaker will destroy costa

Not a controversial decision IMO

RD 1: Clearly Costa
RD 2: Pick-em
RD 3: Clearly Yoel

Overall, I think Costa did more. Romero showed an unbelievable chin. The most significant strike of the entire fight was definitely Yoel getting dropped. He also scored himself a pretty egregious eye poke.

If they fight again, I think Costa would probably get the finish.

We settled the matter of who is the most Natty of the Natty Bois, and it came up Costa. He's gonna be a problem for everybody.

He is not getting paid that 27 million. The company is just some dead end company. Yoel knows he aint getting paid.
he already said he got some money from them. might not be a full 27 mill but considering he's rocking some more intense jewelry lately...id say he got paid.
