News Why OktagonMMA double champ Losene Keita Could Be UFC’s Best Signing in a Very Long Time

For sure, and Oktagon is as legit a promotion outside of the UFC as it gets imo, but Pitbull is a hell of a vet to get in a debut.

I don't know why I feel this way, I guess. Maybe it makes sense, especially rankings/momentum wise, and I know I have no evidence to support my take.

I just feel like Pitbull is the kind of super well-rounded vet like RDA or Neil Magny that could accidentally fuck a hyped prospect's debut. Even if the prospect wins, sometimes it's hard to look great against them, you know? Feels like Ige or even a guy like Emmett ranked above provides a clearer path to victory than a guy like Pitbull imo. But again this is all just feelings and not my brain working (as usual).
Ige is under Abdelaziz - he would never let him risk lose vs "unknown fighter"...RDA is on 3 losing streak and cannot afford to lose vs unranked and unknown fighter, and it will be similiar story with others. Also iam pretty much sure that they promised something in return to Pitbul for agreeing to "welcome" Keita in UFC.

He got offered a top 5 fight up a weight class before Pitbull ?

It's so dumb that the UFC refuses to sign this guy. He's known in Europe he would do great on the Paris card... but even if they did sign him, they'd give him someone like Andre Fili to decision him.

I dont think they're refusing to sign him. This guy makes like a million dollars+ a year in Europe. UFC doesn't pay guys like that coming from Oktagon. He probably is asking for too much money.

I solemnly regret to inform you that you fell for my stupid joke. The first page is full of people complaining and then being told he's been signed and is fighting Pitbull in Paris.

Khamzat smashed a store security guard once perhaps when he realized he could fight. he was shopping but heard commotion of a little kid being manhandled by a security guard, by the way the kid stole something and the kid was yelling for help. Chimaev happened to be there shopping he jumped in and smashed the much bigger security effortlessly and Chimaev himself was perhaps 18 at that point pre-mma he was just a wrestler. This was perhaps his first arrest

I was a bit confused since people were talking about this on the first page. I thought maybe that was a rumor that fell through.

But yeah, there was a thread asking this question about him a few months ago.

Now days due to Trump i believe that "major" fighters will be allowed into country easily. Thats why i mentioned Khamzat as example... + Keita wasn't convicted for major crime -

made little research cuz you -

3-month jail sentence is likely related to charges of intentional bodily harm or assault, possibly without severe injury or lasting damage. Belgian law specifies that intentional wounding or hitting a person can lead to imprisonment from a few days up to six months and/or a fine, depending on the severity and circumstances of the case.

So he has not signed?
Nope. He's exactly the kind of fighter the UFC would let slip through their fingers, even though he would be a great addition to the Paris card, especially if we could see him tested against a veteran.

He seems very good, especially if his opponent is smaller than him.

He should be absolutely okay with Visas to US when people like Khamzat gets allowed in..
Muslims are one of the protected and privileged groups (they might even be #1 in the far left pecking order right now) so that's different.
