Why isn't Silva vs Cormier a title fight?

I dont think Silva wants to have to defend the belt against Rumble and Gus and so on. For chrissakes hes an old man. He just wants the money,this is a big fight and may be the last big one of his career.

Dana said at the press conference that silva didnt want the belt and that silva said "If i beat him everyone will know im the guy anyway" he said that he disagrees and that he thinks having the belt is better and that "they would have to agree to disagree " soooo.. The UFC not only offered him the belt they also pushed for it to be a championship match. This pretty much tells me silva no longer wants to be a champion, be it because burdens of being a champion (media obligations, etc,) or something else. Though if that's why I mean who could blame him? After having to deal will all the stress that comes with being a champ in the UFC all the media and tv interview shit plus all the promos on top of everyone in the division gunning for you. I think he just wants to have fun with his fight carrer without all the weight that comes with a belt and it's completely understandable.

Silva also ecstatically clapped and acted excited at the suggestion from a reporter that there be a rematch for the belt should he win. He's just not in shape to go 5 rounds, especially against a guy that will be trying to grind him out. Is normal.
