Why is there no big budget Hollywood film about George Washington?

Washington in todays society would be seen as a Nazi so if a movie came out about him the cancel culture crowd would come out in force id imagine.

I have been googling about this and found this video

This one claims that the people who ran the studio system in the USA didn’t like the idea of revolutionary politics in the 50s/60/70s and that studios still don’t want to glorify the idea of “revolution” in general.

The argument he puts together is actually pretty good when he gets into the backgrounds of studio head honchos but I dunno.

Although when I think about it I don’t recall many movies about revolutions at all. Nothing big budget has been made about the French Revolution, or the Russian, or Cromwell in England, or in China, or anywhere…

It’s fiction but can throw in V for Vendetta for revolution themed flick

There's a movie called the crossing with Jeff Daniels playing GW. It's not bad for a lowish budget movie. Covers the attack on Trenton. Hamilton is a badass in it.

GW would have been a sherdogger. 6'3 in a time where the average height was 5'6.

You're right, at least off the top of my head i can't think of any big George Washington movies. He is often ranked the top, number 1 president in America's history. He lived a very interesting life, receiving little education, being part of the poor Virginia gentry, but was a self made man who rose to the top of society, and ended up creating a new country. On his death he set his slaves free. He gave up power, becoming America's Cincinnatus. Teachings of ancient Rome was big in the founding fathers time.

It is hard to imagine todays woke Hollywood making a patriotic movie, celebrating a key figure in the nations founding. With that said there was that Reagan movie that came out last year that was entertaining to watch. Many reportedly saw the Reagan movie. I can imagine a decently made Washington movie would be well received also.

Was Washington particularly egregious when it comes to slavery or something? I mean they made that John Adams movie like 10 or 15 years ago, right? With Paul Giamati I think?

Hollywood probably already contacted lin manuel miranda
