Why is the MMA fan community so fickle?

So much hate here right now for Jones. It's hilarious this cycle that a lot of you go through where you build a guy up only to tear them down immediately after their moment. For the past 8 months it's been Jones is the GOAT, DC is a paper champ, we miss Jones, etc, etc. Now Jones is boring, DC would have beaten him tonight, MM is 1 P4P(another cycle of love and hate there).

It goes without saying that the guy hasn't fought in like 16 months and was going against a very dangerous human being. OSP had no answer for Jones. Of course, none of that matters because the important thing is the strange need to binge and purge support for fighters. Weird.

MMA is wonderful but its fans are fucking retarded. These same fuckheads rooted for DC right up until Jones beat him last Winter. They shat on Conor even as he beat everyone up until he finally lost, calling him McTapper, despite the fact they'd still call him a bitch and post the gifs endlessly if he went unconscious. Even worse are the Conor fans who left the building after he lost, or worse still the ones who joined the haters.

MMA and boxing are the only sports I actively watch, but my understanding is that other sports are similar. I'm not sure though; the mental illness rampant on Sherdog and Twitter seems to be something special.
