But everything else to do with the cage illegal?

From a logical standpoint alone it makes no sense.

they should ban running on the cage too, since the feet are grabbing it

the showtime kick was illegal and should be a 2pt deduction, ben henderson was robbed

There has been talk about how it should be illegal.

They should get rid of the cage and replace it with a moat. Problem solved.

Please explain why it would be illegal.

Pushing off the cage in general is legal as far as I know.

Pushing off the cage is legal. Gripping the cage or top of the cage is not.

Grabbing the cage is illegal. I presume that is both to keep it from being used to prevent takedowns, and to prevent finger injuries. Pushing people up against it is not, and pushing off of it is not.

its legal because it hasnt been proven that you can break 12 concrete bricks with a superman punch off the cage yet

You can push off the cage, but you can't grab it. That's pretty much it.

Is there a good reason it shouldn't be legal?

are you fucking serious

How is it illegal? As long as they're not grabbing the cage, it's fine. You can put your hand against it for balance or to push off, you just can't put your fingers through to grab on. Same with your feet & toes. There's no reason it should be a foul, and it certainly isn't under the current rules.

Can you rub your opponent's face on the cage? Or grind it into the mat for that matter? Asking for a friend.
