Why is no one pushing Hendricks vs Diaz?

Hendricks/Diaz would be a pretty sweet fight that I'd like to see, but Hendricks has earned his title shot so it'll just have to hopefully come at a later time. There are plenty of awesome fights for Diaz though that could get him back on track for a title shot. Diaz vs either Alvez, Kampmann, Condit II, or Koscheck would be pretty great. He could even choose to fight a solid up and comer like Erick Silva or Siyar Bahadurzada.

This, its all about the beef, diaz is the only person who can make GSP fight pissed off. Im sure i dont have to mention the controversy of Diaz's last loss and that certainly contributes as well.
Diaz is not going to get GSP pissed off. GSP is a professional fighter and will dominate Diaz on the ground. Also, what was the controversy of Diaz's last loss? Just because a fighter and their camp complain after a loss, doesn't mean it wasn't a loss. Condit clearly won that fight.

Truth be told, there are a lot of exciting scenarios in the WW division right now without Hendricks vs. Diaz.

For instance, if we get Hendricks vs. GSP and Hendricks wins, you could have Diaz vs. Hendricks for the belt and Condit vs. GSP II to be the #1 contender. If GSP wins, you could have Hendricks vs. Diaz or Hendricks vs. Condit to see who's next in line for a title shot.

The only fight in WW that makes sense right now is GSP vs. Hendricks.

Personally I've never look at Diaz as a top 5 WW. He doesn't have the resume, and the majority of top 10 fighters he's fought, he's lost to them. He just lost to Condit, Hendricks has destroyed 2 top 5 WW's in under a minute. He beat Koscheck, he's lost once. Nick Diaz fought for Strikeforce, his biggest wins since leaving the UFC were against Paul Daley, BJ Penn, and Gomi, 2 of the 3 are oversized and due a lot better at 155, not 170. Paul Daley, one dimensional.

this is a funny thread hendricks would get smashed

because hendricks verse anyone other than st pierre is a travesty of justice

GSP needs a new contender and Hendricks is the obvious choice. Diaz may be the more popular choice. He may be the more profitable choice. Hendricks is the true number 1 contender though. He has beat a list of top ranked fighters and no one deserves it more. If Diaz were to lose to Hendricks, definitely possible, then Diaz would be even further away from a fight with GSP. They should just have GSP vs Hendricks, hope GSP wins, and let Diaz have a tune up fight with a decent name. So, if/when both GSP and Diaz win, they can finally fight afterwards.

Remember Nick Diaz v Paul Daley? Now image the potential of Hendricks v Nick Diaz. This is a great way to promote Hendricks facing a well known contender. Plus, if Henricks knocks Diaz the fuk out; it'll finally shut the Diaz fan boys up.Thoughts?

I've been saying the same thing, but all the Diaz haters are blinded by their hate, and blinded by their hate of GSP too, so of course they all want to see Hendricks get the shot, as they think he has the better chance of beating GSP with a bomb.

Diaz was the SF champ, lost a relatively close fight with Condit (no matter who you wanted to win, we can agree it was *relatively close*), and beat up BJ Penn.

Hendricks is on a nice streak, but he BARELY SQUEAKED by Kos and Pierce, one-punched Fitch (but I doubt that would happen again) and impressively laid out Kampmann, which was truly a good win for him.

I personally don't believe that Hendricks "deserves" a shot at GSP just yet, and would like to see him have to face any of Condit, Diaz or Ellenberger first. I thought it was amusing that Hendricks implied the division was cleared out and that GSP was the only one left, WHILE SITTING RIGHT BESIDE CONDIT at the post-fight conference.

Hendricks is smart though - he's seen others blow their shot by taking another fight first (and losing) or by keeping quiet and being leap-frogged by others (um...Sonnen getting Jones, anyone?)

Hendricks and his camp will wisely talk up GSP big time, in the hopes they aren't passed over for the Silva superfight, or Diaz, or some random 185 fight to prep for Silva.

I don't think he deserves that fight. Hendricks is on a good win streak against top welterweights and deserves the next title shot imo.

And Nick Diaz is coming off of a loss and hasn't fought in almost a year. I think he should be fighting someone like Fitch/Ellenberger/Kampmann/Koscheck or maybe even a rematch against Condit.

Please for the love of Zeus, I hope this fight doesn't happen. But i can see upper management giving diaz the shot after he beats kos, if gsp doesn't fight johnny anytime soon. UFC hates johnny.

I say make DIAZ VS. CONDIT II... they are both coming off losses and there was a lot of controversy after the first fight.

I think that's an awesome fight. I think Hendricks gets tooled, but he could ko Diaz. If anybody can do it, it's Hendricks. Diaz just has more ways to win and I could see Hendricks getting boxed up bad.

That would be a great fight to see,but it all depends on GSP's camp and who they want next.

now is not the time. that fight was boring and ufc is a business.

diaz vs gsp is a big ppv draw. the ufc wants it to happen. they will either just give him the shot or match diaz up vs someone they think he can beat or is entertaining (not someone who will try to lnp). they matched him up vs condit for this very reason. winner was supposed to be diaz but either way an exciting fight. whoops.

imo diaz will get an immidiate shot or fight alves, ellenberger, or marquardt and get a title shot with a win. diaz vs marquardt for #1 contender actually makes a lot of sense

Because Diaz test positive for weed and he's irrelevant at this point.

Mainly because Hendricks deserves to fight GSP more than Diaz deserves to fight Hendricks.

I would've loved to see Diaz fight Fitch, it would've been a winnable fight against a credible opponent and the grappling in that fight would've been awesome but the rumored Koscheck fight is good too. I think Kos' power is a bit overrated and he's too willing to absorb punches so I could see Diaz stopping him if he decides to stay on the feet and Diaz is good enough on the ground to hold his own against Kos so I think he'll win that fight as well.
