Why is Masvidal ducking everyone?

Fame and earning potential for him is at its peak so he’s going to be careful to fight people who will 1) maximise money and 2) give him the best chance of winning to maintain current fame.

It isn’t ideal but it’s the reality. He isn’t ‘scared’ this is masvidal we are talking about, he’s being pragmatic.

This is very accurate, in my opinion. However, it contradicts the "BMF" image he wants to portray, as TS said.

It's diva shit when he should be fighting anybody he can to work his way back to a real title shot. Unfortunately, the approach he's taking has become the norm, as of late, for fighters in, or close to, his position.

Shit's weak.

Probably due to the fact that he was the A-Side Headliner of the highest selling PPV of 2020 along with Conor.

He’s likely only gonna be headlining/co headlining PPVs from now on and will probably attempt to negotiate for PPV points as well. He’s also 36 and only has a handful of fights left, I can’t blame him for trying to cash out and angling for fights with Conor/Diaz bros instead of fighting nobodies like Leon Edwards.

It sure is weird he's been so silent lately. Before Colby beat Woodley he was on social medial and interviewing all the time.

Oh absolutely, the BMF of the ufc should be someone who will fight anyone and comes for blood (Holland and Rda are prime examples) which by taking the approach masvidal has recently goes against this idea of a BMF.

However with the persona he gives off and the ufc and the media legitimising the whole bmf shit it’s going to stick even when he isn’t acting like a a BMF sadly.

yep, his last fight was 7 day notice, the dude can have a full camp fight ? Colby has never been in a short notice fight, and I cant remember the last time he beat someone that's not old as fuck in the game.

Colby vs Leon sounds good to me.

jroge said he was training everyday so he was ready for usman. jorge only did the 7 days notice so which he did after play the victim card.

who jorge win vs someone who not old. nate is old. ben is old.

Just like every other fighter after getting a couple of big paychecks, he's no longer interested in fighting a bunch of no-names. The problem is that the Conor fight is not likely anymore and in order to stay relevant he'll have to fight someone soon and the Colby match-up is one of the very few that make sense.

What's his real deal with the Mezcal?
Does he have any sort of focus/time/whatever invested in that?

To tell the truth, we don't really know what the real "beef" with Colby is. They could both be playing us for fools.
Also, don't believe a word that Colby says. In the lead up to the Usman fight he tried to backtrack a bit on his rhetoric, and has numerously told anyone that would listen that he talks all that foolishness because it makes him interesting to people.

So many questions to answer...

Honestly, Masvidal would look better without the BMF title. It's supposed to be a badge of honor, but it has the side effect of projecting a take all comers aura. Without that symbolism, few would be criticizing him for not accepting risky matchups. But from the very beginning the BMF title was just a gimmick. It has never stood for anything real. (Other than bringing in revenue for the UFC, that is.)

jorge was clearly out of shape and fat against usman, every fighter trains every day, it is their jobs. Training every day is different from training camp.

he said he was in the gym helping dustin get ready for khabib and getting his work in so jorge was ready. maybe he needed to some extra work cutting weight but that was all.

jorge just fought Usman on short notice, WTF is wrong with sherdoggers ???

why colby doesn't face a top contender for once ?

Leon vs colby, the winner get a title shot, that sound good to me.
Just? It has been quite some time

One of the rare instances where I agree 100% with the TS..... Yeah Masvidal is a duck and a disgrace to be titled the baddest motherf*cker.

Bcuz he would rather fight fellow journeyman like Nate Diaz, whom he has already destroyed, or a natural LW like Conor. The guy is pathetic.

He's a journeyman who caught a lightning in a bottle. I mean what's even more funny is what happened to all his 'fans'?

Man I got flamed to death by his fanboys for calling Masvidal for what he is, just a journeyman who got lucky, but where are they at now?

I don't blame Masvidal though. He's just not good at all.
He knocked out Darren Till stiff lol, what a garbage bum.
