Why is Dana pretending they haven't co promoted before

Dana won’t co-promote anymore because Chuck didn’t follow the gameplan and it cost them. Unfortunate, but that’s just how it is.
It has more to do with Pride lying to them and not sending Wandy back for a ufc fight

And getting all pissy with reporters?

As a journalist that's when you know you asked a legitimate question, when Dana gets butthurt and starts name calling

Francis vs Jones is the only fight at HW

The UFC did not promote Conor vs. Floyd.

It was Mayweather promotions, Al Haymon and Showtime.

Here's puff piece written by UFC shill Kevin Iole that admits that Dana really didn't do anything besides sit on stage during the press tour.

...and Dana gets pissy because their position is that the UFC is the entire industry and that they won't put themselves in a situation where they're on the same level with fighters or other promoters.

However, the problem is that this is the opposite of what they're arguing as their defense in the antitrust suit, so this is yet another piece of evidence that's going to be used against them at trial.

You literally just answered your own question. Now everybody and their dog want to take what the UFC has done for their careers. And go make money for somebody else with it. The UFC will never let a fighter under contract go have a boxing match on their dime again.

And to pretend that Conor and Ngannou were even in the same galaxy in drawing power when Ngannou left is ridiculous. Unless of course you’re just trolling.

Strikeforce folded because of Coker being gullible getting in bed with M-1.

Dana isn’t a idiot like Coker is, there is a reason is still a float and flourishing.

UFC doesn’t need the fight and doesn’t have any interest in it.

If you can’t see the difference between co promoting a boxing match with McGregor when the ufc is not inboxing and has never had anything to do with Floyd, and co promoting an mma event when they are the premier mma organization and had Francis signed as their hw champion, idk what to tell you.

Kids - that is what a run on sentence looks like.

Sentence ran me into the ground, brother.

UFC would be willing to co-promote "up" with Mayweather Promotions but not "down" with feral dog MMA orgs like PFL and M1 Global

UFC still copromoted

that was a Pride event with a ufc fighter in it. I don’t think you understand what’s co promotion is.
Pretty sure that was not a co-promotion.. they simply sent a fighter to fight.
Nope. Wrong
Total Elimination 2003 & Final Conflict 2003 were 100% co-promoted by the UFC.

https://bloodyelbow.com/2023/01/03/...ite-doesnt-cross-promote-mma-events-ufc-news/

Liddell, Ricco Rodriguez, and Murilo Bustamante were all sent over as fighters and Couture was sent over for commentary for the American audience to join with Bas. PRIDE was supposed to offer up Sakuraba, Wanderlei, etc to reciprocate and fight in the UFC but it never happened. Also PRIDE stole Bustamante right under Dana's nose as an even bigger fuck you.

...by making Conor and Dana available.

Did you even see the UFC logo on the broadcast or the ring canvas?

That's usually what happens when there are multiple boxing promoters. The viewer is explicitly told who both promoters are.

because his boys always lose.

As much as I'd love to see Jon fight Frank, it makes absolutely no business sense for the UFC to co-promote with PFL. Mayweather Promotions and Pride were proven players whose track record and value (non monetary) rivaled the UFC's at that specific time. It made business sense for everybody involved because they all brought "equal" value to the table. What would the UFC gain from co-promoting with the PFL? Why would they elevate a "competitor" who can't even sell out a college gym?

I think the only way it'd make sense for the UFC to co-promote this would be with Francis' Gimmick Promotions (I think that's what it's called). The PFL would not be involved. Francis would also have to be very realistic about his stake as a co-promoter in this. He'd have to make more than Jon for sure (base salary + PPV + co-promoter stake), but nowhere near what the UFC would make as a co-promoter. Or Jon could also create his own promotion just for this one fight so that he can get co-promoter benefits as well.

Also, Jon would've to vacate the UFC HW belt after beating Stipe and make it clear that fighting Francis would be his retirement legacy fight. In that way, the UFC wouldn't be stuck with a non-UFC champion in case Frank wins.
