Pettis has been completely washed up since RDA beat the shit out of him three years ago.
 
I was wondering that too.

Chiesa is great on the ground, but pettis tapped bendo off of his back and do bronx, so even if chiesa takes him down I don't see pettis getting dominated.

Chiesa's standup has been looking better tho and he will be huge compared to pettis.

It's a pretty even fight IMO

His hands are underrated. He did outbox Eddie after all. They just aren't elite and worrying about the takedown makes him more susceptible.

Chiesa isn't that good of a striker. A lot of his wins are come from behind submissions in fights he is losing. Which I don't think will happen here. Pettis is too slick on the ground for that.
 
Pettis has no hand game, wilts under pressure and does not even throw much flashy stuff anymore that Sherdog loves so much. He is a shell of his former self and can not find an elite win under USADA, tho a lot of nostalgic fans keep hoping for 2008 Pettis to run across the cage and headkick a fool.
 
Good chin, high pace, comes forward, clinches a lot. All the things Pettis hates.

I’m still a little salty cuz it looked like Pettis had the triangle choke locked in against Poirier when the ref inexplicably called a break and didn’t give Pettis the same position back
 
Hate to say it cause I like the guy. But this isn't champion Pettis.. this is 2018 gatekeeper Pettis.
 
this fight should on prelims pettis has no business in main card.
