Benavidez usually brings it and puts on a good fight IMO. Sergio has been a decision monster but still I don't think it should be that low on the fight card. Promo for people to buy fightpass? People really don't care about flyweight at all? Even a fight between two in the top 5? This could have been thrown on the main portion of a less stacked card.

Anyways I wonder how Joe will look coming off ACL reconstruction surgery...

lol at anyone looking for logic in UFC fight card order

Gotta keep Joe B down because a trilogy fight with MM has 0 marketability.

Sucks for Benavidez, he's got nowhere to go.

Fight Pass... Got to give the members who pay for it something worth watching. Plus. The card is stacked to the gills.

Flyweights always get shafted when it comes to card placement. Is normal to see 2 ranked Flyweights fight on the fightpass prelims

because no one cares about joe benamidget

Sergio is a stalled prospect, Benevidez will never beat MM and they fight in a division no casual fan gives even a minor fuck about. So since the UFC has no intention of promoting either guy going forwards and people don't already care about them this is where they go

Who cares though? Gonna be a great fight and I'm gonna watch it and enjoy it wherever they put it

They got Holm vs Anderson on the main card. There are a few fights I'd rather see over that fight under them. To be fair though this card is pretty stacked so there's pretty legit fights at least every other matchup for the most part.

good fight

but who cares

no one is tuning in for them except their families

This is a great question. Benevedez vs Sergio Pettit will draw millions.

It's just another example of many where the UFC does not properly promote the flyweight division, and then when someone is slated to fight mighty mouse, everyone goes "who is he fighting" because they're almost never promoted on main cards.

Someone on twitter did a little study to point out that outside of MM, the UFC has only made one men's flyweight main event (Moreno vs Pettis). Smolka fought Holohan in Dublin, but the original ME of Poirier/Duffy and the co-main of Miocic/Rothwell fell through so that flyweight fight was bumped up. How can the UFC hope anyone will care about a division when they're not showing the audience these fights?

Can't say I disagree with any of the replies too much.

Dana the knew Vince McMahon. Punishing a fighter for banging his hot tv host
